It’s nice to find locations with empanadas. It’s a bit pricey and not the best empanadas I had. However, I tried their Nopales one and it was tasty. It was unique filling and I’m glad I had the chance to try such empanada. Coffee was good. If I happen to be around the area. I will certainly go again for a quick morning bite.

Ordered 4 empanadas: Chorizo,Mushrooms,Chicken and beef. They have the best chimichurri that I have tasted in US!! I was craving it since Monday.
But the amazing discovery was the new drink that has 20g of protein when asked for dairy, collagen!!!! And forgot what else.. too bad I didn’t take picture of drink this morning. It was good, to me taste, it had a childhood flavor … almost like a light fortified chocolate milk , and yes it also has caffeine. 1 Espresso shot for small drink.
It was quiet. To bad a homeless broke their front door ugh… 🙁

This place is fantastic! The owner Jaen is so kind and he makes THE best chimichurri sauce I’ve ever had. 10/10! Do yourself a favor – go get yourself some empanadas and coffee.

OMGGGGG the coffee is so good here. This is a high-class cafe, although for the more-brisk crowd, as it is at the corner of two major berkeley roads, Ashby and Shattuck. The barista

Stopped by this cafe as I was intrigued by their selection of empanadas. They all sounded SO tasty, but I opted to go for the beef empanada and the spinach/feta empanada. Both were really good but the spinach/feta was incredible — everything tasted so fresh, and love that this empanada had such a thin flaky crust with a nice bite to it on the edges. The dipping sauce was a nice touch and spiced it up which was very addicting. The cafe itself has plenty of space for seating and the service was nice and friendly. I definitely think this will be my new go to spot for empanadas… I got to try them all eventually!

It looks like a little hole in the wall. It is absolutely beyond that. The chicken in the empanadas is fully shredded, fresh and flavorful. Everything is made by hand to the highest quality. Of course the staff is friendly and good at their jobs. The muffin was wonderful.

The beef empanada was amazing! First time at Buenos Aires cafe so I ordered a variety of empanadas and all were perfect. Thought they would be larger in person but they’re about 5 inches long on a good day so I was glad I ordered 5 empanadas to be full for the rest of my day. Definitely gonna come back to try the other flavors.

Love love love all their empanadas ! Ask for extra hot cuz they often get served warm. Just don’t burn your mouth! The drinks are mostly made with a powdered packet which is fine but underwhelming. I appreciate the vibes and kind staff! Great location for co working and spending hours on their wifi haha

After an exceptionally hard and frustrating morning I happened to wander in this cafe looking for a small coffee to help brighten my mood. I’m new to the area and have had some trouble settling in. What I was met with this morning went far beyond my expectations. I spoke to a very kind gentleman at the front who was very quick to offer genuine kind words and an ear to listen if I needed. The kindness I found here was exactly what I needed today. I came for a coffee but left feeling a little lighter. Thank you for creating such a warm atmosphere 😉
(also the food is delicious)

Short Answer: Not the best experience. Might try again, but am more likely to go to another empanada place not far from here.
I was here at maybe 10:30am on a Sunday, and most seating was available. You order at the front counter, and pick up from there when your name is called.
I ordered a beef, a ham & cheese, and a mushroom empanada. The food took long enough that I actually got to up to check on their status (over 10 minutes for sure). I realize that they are premade but need to be reheated, but it seemed unusually long considering the empty room. They were working on a lot of pre-orders. So I get it, but still.
Unfortunately, after the longish wait, the empanadas were cold or maybe room temperature at the top of each, but hot/warm at the bottom. Not the most enjoyable. Flavor was fine, not remarkable, but they are just empanadas. The dough was thin and there was a good amount of filling – both good things for me. So, they’re a decent value – if they’re heated through.
Overall, I was disappointed, but willing to give them another try, if a friend wanted to stop in some day or something.
