We stopped by for a casual bite and ended up trying a bunch of things — and honestly, every single item was a hit!
The JB Butter Vadapav was the star of the show — perfectly spiced, buttery, and full of flavor. The Dabeli brought back nostalgic street food memories with just the right amount of sweet and spicy.
We also had the Manchurian Dry, which was super flavorful with a great Indo-Chinese kick. And you have to try their Jam Muskabun — soft, sweet, and an absolute comfort food treat.
To top it off, we tried the Jamun shots and Spicy Guava shots — both were refreshing and a fun twist to the meal. The guava one had a spicy tang that really woke up the taste buds!
Overall, this place is a hidden gem — clean, welcoming, and with great vibes. Can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu. Highly recommend!
The inside of the restaurant was laid out very nicely. Very simple with nice music digital menus were available as well as paper menus. I never experienced food like this before so Vic, who I believe was the manager. It was very helpful and selected a vegetarian burger for me and made it vegan by not including cheese and mayonnaise. Instead he put a side of green chili sauce and a sweet red sauce after I ordered the food came out within 10 minutes a lot of their dishes or potato based so this burger had heavy influences of spicy potato and vegetables very fresh, sliced tomatoes, and cucumbers, which is different. Usually it’s a pickle, but the cucumber added gave it a refreshing taste, the green sauce that I put on the sandwich was almost like Sofrito heavy on cilantro, garlic, and chili so it was quite spicy, but very good.
This was served on their in-house made potato bread, which was excellent. It was a decent size sandwich. It was à la carte so it did not have any sides with it. It would be nice to see complete meals on the menu. I ordered another dish as you’ll see the pictures and videos I believe it was Lentil soup, served with fermented rice cakes and a coconut dipping sauce on the side, it tasted pretty good, from what I understand this is a homestyle thing that Indonesian people like. They’re very nice people here. It was a little tough for me to understand the accent so I just told them to serve me some of the most popular foods.
Wow! Jay Bhavani Vada Pav in Bensalem is an absolute gem that brings the authentic flavors of India right to your doorstep. From the moment you step in (or unwrap your takeout, as in my case!), you know you’re in for a treat.
The star of the show, the vada pav, is simply perfection. Each bun is soft and perfectly toasted, encasing a beautifully spiced potato fritter that’s bursting with flavor. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and traditional recipes – it’s just like what you’d find on the streets of Mumbai!
But it’s not just about the vada pav. The chole bhature (or whatever the main dish is in the tray) was equally outstanding. The chickpeas were cooked to tender perfection in a rich, aromatic gravy, and the bhature were wonderfully puffed and light. It’s a comforting and incredibly satisfying dish. And those purple cups (I’m guessing a sweet lassi or a special drink?) were the perfect refreshing accompaniment, adding a delightful end to the meal.
The presentation, even for what looks like takeout, was thoughtful and neat. The menu clearly states “Taste the World,” and Jay Bhavani certainly delivers on that promise. The location at 1953 Street Road, Bensalem, PA, is now firmly on my radar for authentic Indian street food.
If you’re looking for a genuinely delicious and authentic Indian food experience in the Bensalem area, Jay Bhavani Vada Pav is an absolute must-visit. Highly, highly recommend!
