With a deep love for his heritage and a keen desire to share the rich and diverse flavors of Nepalese cuisine with the wine country , Ming and his family has embarked on a gastronomic journey to introduce authentic Nepalese dishes to the Western palate. After moving to Wine country ,Ming noticed a growing curiosity and appreciation for global cuisines. He seized the opportunity to open his own restaurant, [LASO]. Ming believes Nepalese cuisine is a vibrant and diverse fusion of flavors, drawing inspiration from its neighboring countries, India, China, and Tibet, while retaining its unique and authentic taste.

The food here was so delicious and fresh! I had the sel roti and the sauce on the potatoes had the perfect kick alongside the sweetness of the bread. The vegetarian Momo’s were so fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent and the ambiance was very relaxing. I will be coming here regularly after discovering this great resturant!

Laso 2.0 is a gem in American Canyon! The food is amazing. The atmosphere, quality, and price make it even more special.
We took our mom who was a first timer trying Nepalese cuisine. Dawa took the time to go over the menu and options and we were delighted to learn more about Nepalese culture.

Their Nepali cuisine was a comforting, tasty and pleasant alternative to the other varieties of ethnic foods that are abundant in our area. New patrons get educated about the menu and the service is quite attentive. The Nepali lagger was crisp and complimented the dinner. The setting is bright, colorful and spacious. Definitely worth visiting when you’re looking for something different.

The food and service is amazing. The owners obviously take pride in their food and culture, taking the time to explain the ethnic Nepalese menu in detail to us and giving cultural insight to the drinks and dishes we picked.
I definitely recommend going out of your comfort zone to try their more traditional dishes. Spice levels are moderate, with all sauces served on the side. The imported Nepalese beers are also very good – think German pilsners with more flavor.
Atmosphere was quiet, and kind of intimate. Nothing very fancy compared to to upscale Napa places, but the food experience was absolutely top tier!

Amazing food and great service! The food here is healthy but flavorful, and doesn’t leave you feeling heavy afterwards. We got the beef thenthuk and the chicken momos, and both were fantastic. We also got the potato pancake which came with a couple of nice sauces. I can’t do spicy so she brought out a mint dipping sauce that was my favorite! We got to know the owner and she explained the menu to us so we could make a more informed choice. The prices are also super reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. Can’t wait to go back and try new things!

My family and I are fairly new to American Canyon and we finally had the chance to try Laso Restaurant. It exceeded our expectations immensely. I can’t believe we have this hidden gem in our neighborhood! We loved the ambiance, to the decor, the drinks and to every item we ordered. We met the owner, Ming. He was so kind and so accommodating to us especially having a 12month old with us. We have never had Nepalese food before and Ming graciously walked us through the menu to help us select our items. During our lunch we learned a lot about the Nepalese culture, the popular dishes in Nepal and just getting into know Ming and his business. They have recently rebranded themselves. I believe it was a fusion restaurant before serving pastas, steak and seafood. With the recent rebranding, Laso now serves only Authentic Nepalese food. Ming told us that his customers’ feedback really impacted his decision to rebrand and calibrated his price points. I love that Ming truly values his customers input and feedback. Ming shared that in his recent trip back to Nepal, he explored all the top Nepalese restaurants and observed all the popular dishes the Nepalese locals were eating and revised his entire menu to pay homage to Nepal. Ming told us that most Nepalese restaurants in the Bay Area are heavily Indian fusion but at his restaurant, he offers some dishes that you only get in Nepal or Mt. Everest. After our meal, my husband and I truly felt we had an authentic taste of Nepal. Ming found regulars in us! I am sending positive vibes and hope Laso continues to succeed and thrive here in American Canyon. We need more Asian restaurants like Laso here!

AMAZING NEPALI FOOD. I would give Laso more stars if they were available. This place is truly a hidden gem. Dawa (the owner and server), and her family (all of whom work at the restaurant), made our experience a most memorable one. The food was spectacular. The menu is short enough that you could order almost everything if your party is hungry (and trust me, you should probably try everything). Every one of the dishes arrived promptly, was impeccably presented, and tasted amazing. Every dish was beautifully executed and the flavors were outstanding! The herbs are sourced from their own garden, and each dish had delicate flavors and wonderful textures. Everything (including the sauces) is made by hand, and the herbs are sourced from their garden. Nothing is frozen and everything was freshly made daily. I can’t say enough good things about the food.

The Kathey Chicken Momo was delicious. The beef Thenthuk was pretty flavorless. I added their chili sauce to try to get some taste. Service was excellent. Waiter was very helpful and answered all questions.

This place is what’s great about America. Family-run super authentic Nepali restaurant, the nicest proprietress. Revamped the menu to be lower cost, and is amazingly delicious. You can taste how fresh & homemade this is. Made me feel like I was eating a meal in their home, such a warm and cozy feeling. Tasty, healthy, authentic. A few steps walk from the Fairfield Inn and yet would have been worth a longer drive. Definitely should come!
