Life Of A Nomad
Amazing dinner in a historic Montana gem!
We had the salmon, steak, and crème brûlée . Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The salmon was tender and fresh, the steak juicy and seasoned just right, and the crème brûlée was the perfect sweet ending. The atmosphere is warm and charming, with a real sense of Montana history. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Helena!

This was our first time here, the atmosphere is so welcoming! Such a cute restaurant. Our waitress was Cindy and she was great! We had the Brie, mussels, ribeye and duck. The risotto that is served with the duck is AMAZING. Over all the food was very tasty and delicious wine. Definitely a fun spot for date night or a special occasion. Thanks to Cindy for taking such great care of us!

I was hoping that after reading some negative reviews that people were just crazy. Unfortunately they were right. My family and I can all agree we would never return. The steak was cooked well, but tasted like someone dumped a bucket of salt over the top. I couldn’t even finish my steak it was so salty. The potatoes and veggies were almost cold. The seafood pasta might have been the worst pasta I ever had. 0 flavor, it was like noodles with seafood, water, and a tablespoon of milk. For such a small menu, everything should taste incredible in my opinion. To charge $60 a plate and provide this kind of service is crazy. If you want a good steak or meal with fresh local ingredients for a responsible price, the Union is the place to go in Helena.

First off, I apologize to the Wassweiler for bringing down your star rating for food, service, atmosphere, and overall, but I don’t regret it and here’s why – you’re food, service, and atmosphere is fabulous and no one reads 5 star reviews. There are so few 1 star reviews, I know many skip right to them. My wife and I meant to try the Wassweiler for years, and you’re staff was more than accommodating after an initial faux pas, from the hostess to the waitress, to the others wondering around. While our appetizers were just on par with other high end restaurants, no disappointment, our main courses were phenomenal! I didn’t know you could make chicken that delicious. I’m sure there are a few off nights here and there and some people can’t be pleased, but my wife and I will be traveling the hour to the Wassweiler annually for either a birthday, anniversary, etc., I don’t really care, we’ll find a reason… Well done, 5 stars all around. P.S. You have over 330 reviews, so I’m not making any impact, and with what you’ve got going on, you’ll be just fine…

Best place to spend our Anniversary! Wonderful cozy restaurant with delicious food and great beverage options. Staff is highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Best service! Loved the candied bacon, Brussels, teres major and twice baked potato. This is a must try when you’re looking for a cozy, romantic dinner spot.

This is the best fine dining in Helena without a doubt. The Brie appetizer paired with the candied bacon appetizer is an absolute must. We ordered the chicken Jerusalem and the sweet potato satay for main entrees. The chicken was so fresh and juicy, not dry at all, and paired with the hollandaise sauce, it was mouth watering. The sweet potato satay was so rich (also vegan if anyone follows that diet). The best part was the dessert. The cheesecake was so fresh and light, the cobbler was delicious and the homemade ice cream on top was amazing. Besides the food being spectacular, the atmosphere was amazing. If you go in the winter it is worth the extra fee to dine out in their igloo like pods. They were warm, intimate, cozy, and fairy tale like with all the whimsical lights and snow surrounding them. Finally the service was excellent and the staff is polite, attentive and kind. I believe our sever was Sye (that’s the name on my receipt and I feel like a jerk for not remembering), but he gave us excellent menu recommendations. It was truly a magical experience eating here.

Made a reservation for the early seating at 5…as did a lot of others! They got us seated right away and our server was right there ready. The food was delish (Brie app; salads; Jerusalem Chicken and the Duck Breast) and didn’t leave hungry! Service was great, friendly and timely. Highly recommend the restaurant and the shop next store!

Being set just outside of Helena in an old house this is one of the most unique dining experiences you’ll find in the area. They are a bit on the pricey end but rightfully so for the level of service and excellence they are turning out of their kitchen. They have a large variety of imported wines and beers that compliment their food nicely. Once you are done at Wassweiler don’t forget to drop by Broadwater hot springs right next door for an after meal soak.
