Loved the place. Found it on the internet and decided to check it out. Well worth the stop. Did not dine in but the menu was full of interesting tastes. The two bartenders were great and provided tons of interesting information about The Still and Blue Rook Cane Spirits Distillery. We had a delicious drink ‘Cachaca’ and bought two bottles to take with us.
Going to make a stop back there so. Fantastic staff and atmosphere.

I came here with my fiancé and our friends for a birthday! This restaurant is elegantly built into a distillery, and you can see the machinery and pipes through a large window near the eating area. They have lots of seating options and have a bright and beautiful bar.
Our server was absolutely the sweetest! She went out of her way to make us laugh and learn about us. She really made the birthday boy in our group feel special!
I got their baked mac ‘n’ cheese, which was so creamy, rich and absolutely DELECTABLE! My fiancé got their burger and fries, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For the birthday boy, our waitress lit a sparkler on top of their renowned Warm Banana Bread Pudding smothered in vanilla ice cream, and it was delicious!
I highly recommend coming here with some friends for a nice lunch or dinner out! We can’t wait to come back here again soon!

Wonderful food and atmosphere. A definite stop if you’re in the area. Group of four ended up sharing a eight appetizers and a couple desserts because we wanted to try it all. Wonderful flavors on food and drinks. I will return to try more of their menu.

Update: we have had several great experiences here. Order the mussels and the deviled eggs. Can also recommend the Pear Vodka Rita !! The shortrib and creamed corn entree is also a new favorite.
The food and service are incredible. Emily was a phenomenal server, very attentive. The salmon toast was a delicious experience. We tried multiple drinks and all were really good. The strip steak was absolutely enormous and cooked perfectly with a fantastic chimichurri sauce. The shrimp and grits was a unique and tasty interpretation. We also got to tour the distillery which was awesome to see. 10/10 would visit again!!

Great atmosphere and incredible service! I went here on a Saturday for a date night and it was a perfect experience. I loved that The Still offered non-alcoholic mocktails in addition to their alcoholic beverages, as I currently cannot partake but still wanted a fancy drink! The Aged Cheddar Cheese and tomato basil dip appetizer were mind-blowing delicious… I could have ordered another and just had that for dinner. I opted for The Still burger with fries and it was flavorful and cooked to the doneness I requested. My husbands NY Strip Steak with blue cheese potato salad was incredible, he always shares a taste with me… I could have devoured his whole plate as well; so good! He also had the Blue Rook Cachaca Flight which was a tremendous deal at only $5 and offered a half pour of four of their own spirits. We did get both desserts they currently had on the menu, a Warm banana bread pudding and a Dry stack espresso tart with raspberries. The banana bread pudding was so tasty I will be looking for a copycat recipe once I finish this review, same for the blue cheese potato salad! All in all, a wonderful experience. I would not hesitate to visit again when in Danville.

We had a very nice dinner at the Still. The deviled egg and corn appetizers were both excellent. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the steak was excellent with the chimichurri and blue cheese. All of the mixed drinks were also top notch and the sangria was tasty with a splash of vodka. To close out the night we had a few birthdays and they came in with sparklers. We had our 6-year old with us and they took great care to give her cute stuff and keep her happy like a Brazil flag (they were celebrating for a football match) and simple cocktail umbrellas. All in all this was just a great experience from the food to the atmosphere. Closest to “fine / gourmet city dining” I have had in Danville.

Now I feel really dumb. Lol We’ve lived in Danville for 18 months and this was our first visit to The Still. That was a mistake. Dinner last night was fantastic. We started with a Raspberry Lemon Drop (vodka) cocktail and the Caramelized Onion Grilled Cheese for an appetizer, which was our favorite part of the meal. We shared the special, sparerib pasta with brussel sprouts as our side. Fantastic service, food and the restaurant itself was very comfortable. We’ll be back.

We love this hidden gem! We live in Richmond and it’s only about a 40 min drive. The food is delicious and the drink menu to amazing! The staff are very knowledgable and friendly. If you’re anywhere near Danville add this to your dinner menu!

This is one of my favorite places in the whole region. Every time I eat at The Still it never disappoints. My all time favorite is their pork chop. I honestly don’t really love mushrooms and kale but the sauce and combination of flavors is so perfect that I almost lick my plate every time I get it. Highly recommend if you want food made from fresh ingredients and a great culinary experience. Oh and their crème brûlée is a perfect crunch top every time so I never skip dessert at this place.
