I got the sesame chicken, bok choy and chicken dumplings. The sesame chicken was of course little chicken donuts in a sweet sauce with a dash of sesame seeds (I had to add about 5 dashes more to get to the level in the picture). The chicken was all white meat and tasty but they were not spicy at all. The chicken dumplings looked nothing like the picture – they were deep fried not pan fried like the picture and seemed to be generic cooked from frozen rather than hand made. Bok choy was fine. Spicy chili oil on the side was filled with red chilis but was not at all spicy either. The “fried rice” that comes for free with dishes was tasty but not like fried rice you might be used to with vegetables and egg. It was pretty much just rice that had been fried. I like that they default to brown rice.

***UPDATE! WARNING!*** Ended up getting food poisoning a few hours after eating. Be wary of this place.
Usually we love this place but our chow mein came with no noodles. Disappointed.

Always very good food. Tofu and veggies, noodles, sesame chicken are some of the best we’ve ever had. Great lunch specials.
Update: the chicken coconut curry is incredible. Super friendly with our kids.

I tried the Sesame Chicken lunch. It was $10.25 after tax and was one serving. The food was ready quickly and was decent but not amazing. The dining room could use some deep-cleaning and music. I’ll have to try them again but not before checking out some other Chinese restaurants in town.

I have not ordered from this place before, but I definitely will be from now on. the Chicken Dumplings 8 Pieces were delicious. the Kung Pao Chicken was so yummy with the best freshly cooked vegetables added. The spice level was perfect. The Beef with Broccoli was outstanding. There was such a great ratio of veggies to beef. The rice was perfectly cooked. I am so pleased!!!

Pretty average food. I got the Mongolian beef and it had decent flavor, just not spicy. The rice was great. I don’t really like drinking canned soda though. The service was good though.

After perusing the reviews of local spots for egg drop soup, this seemed like the best place to check out! I had high hopes for the quality of this restaurant, but there were a few downsides that were tough to overlook. The main dish we were looking forward to, their egg drop soup, was severely lacking in flavor.
As for the remaining contents of our order, it was undeniably disappointing. Their Vietnamese spring rolls were difficult to chew as they consisted of pork pieces that had an extremely off-putting texture as well as taste. The unique rendition of fish sauce that accompanied them was the most repulsive part, as it made the entire order reek of a very unpleasant smell not to mention the abhorrent, expired taste. The fried egg rolls were mushy and subpar for the price point. The “crab cheese rangoons” were merely cheese; both their menu and the employee over the phone who confirmed that they had crab cheese rangoons were a bit misleading. Not bad, just simply not what we ordered/expected either. Lastly, we tried the chicken egg fried rice. The chicken was unseasoned and there were no eggs to be found, but it was okay. The flavors may not have been for us at this restaurant, but I’m sure they might suit other people’s preferences! (Although, I am a fan of dishes from other Asian restaurants.)
That said, the amiable service combined with the cozy atmosphere when I picked up the order were the most redeeming takeaways from our experience at Spicy House. While I don’t plan on making a return here anytime soon, they were extremely sweet in addressing my review and even took the time to kindly elaborate upon their Vietnamese food and sauces.

Door dashed my meal. Most of it was sad and greasy. The Mongolian Beef is just sad, greasy, salty, beef and onions. The pan fried dumplings seemed more like deep fried dumplings. The hot and sour soup tasted like bland goop with white pepper. The crab cheese wontons have the bare minimum of filling, but taste decent.
The only things I’d ever consider ordering again are the sesame chicken, which was shockingly good given how mediocre the rest of the food was, and the egg rolls.

I love this place! For months we have gotten food to go from here regularly. The fried rice is full of flavor and has big chunks of chicken in it. The curry is spicy and perfectly sweet. When I first moved to Longmont I tried what felt like every Chinese spot around and this has been the favorite and now the only one we go to. Its not the prettiest looking place but has the most wonderful woman always smiling at the counter and provides the best food in town
