Came to BROWN bag seafood for a quick bite before checking into my hotel. Inquired with the host about food recommendations. She recommended the lobster roll or the fish and chips. Giving such a great description of the lobster roll I went with it. I was not disappointed. The tater tots were cooked to perfection and the lobster roll was delicious. Definitely try some of the boss sauce as well! Even left with some Swedish fish!
I will definitely be back.
Menu was a little confusing to me but I enjoyed learning how it works.
I was craving fried fish, fried shrimp and some fries. This spot is close to my home so I was really hoping for good food. As I strolled just east of the street walkers and bar trash on division street, I found this awesome spot on the corner.
This place is a solid 5. I look forward to coming back and trying the healthier options.
Keep up the great work. The staff deserves an award and I feel bad for putting no tip. I’ll overcome my cheapness and take care of you all next time.
A special thank you to Aaron — he was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It was our first time visiting, and he did a fantastic job guiding us through the menu and helping us choose. His attitude made the whole experience even better.
Overall, we had a great time and a very positive first impression. We will definitely be coming back again!
However, one note: you should bring your own napkins or hand wipes, as the restaurant doesn’t provide any wipes or hand sanitizer.
I had a hard time finding one. While fancy places often have them, finding one on the menu at a more casual spot is rare. Luckily, I found street parking in the Gold Coast area and decided to try this restaurant.
The small restaurant had a clean and well-thought-out layout. Although the lobster roll was $34, I couldn’t resist ordering it—and I’m so glad I did!
The beverage I also ordered was that
Ginger lemonade was perfectly balanced—not too sweet, with a refreshing finish, ideal for a hot day. The lobster roll came in a brown to-go box, packed with thick, juicy chunks of lobster nestled in a buttery, moist, toasted bun. Instead of the usual French fries, it came with crispy fried tots topped with fresh shredded Parmesan cheese—a delightful twist!
Everything was crafted with care and attention to detail, which I believe was worth paying $34. They seem to have several locations in Chicago, but I’d love to see them open one in the suburbs. And if they do, I hope they keep this incredible food quality.
That’s what made the experience so special!
