my boyfriend and i have been coming here for the two years that we’ve lived in the area. there’s two employees that have always been very nice to us, but just tonight there was an employee that messed up my order which is fine! but when we went back to ask if we could have our order redone the store was closed at 7:20 when it says both online and in the store that they close at 8. the lights were off and the doors were locked, i really like coming here, but this really irked me 🙁 if they were planning on closing early i would have liked to know…

My order was a Pizza sub. It was Awful!!! All bread which tasted old n stale. Not much sauce on it. Very little toppings of banana peppers and pepperoni. The cheese wasn’t usual cheese flavor and not completely melted. So dry n flavorless. I ended up throwing most away in trash. I’m so disappointed with this! I try my best to shop locally to support my home businesses. But when the local home businesses can’t fix good food for the prices I pay, I’m going outside of Elyria for better foods. Shape up, Dave’s staff, word gets around!

Honestly won’t be going there again. My fiancé’s cooked meat on his chicken bacon ranch and my sandwich wasn’t bad but the guy slapping sandwiches together was lazy. I said what I said . Save your money also our cream soda was flat and his toot beat was not tasting right. The Dave’s root beer was yummy tho

Went with a friend and the store looked like no one had stocked anything. The pizza sub we were going to split was swimming in sauce and the bread was unbelievably soggy. There is one person working and several people walked in and everyone had to wait while this person did all the different jobs. Also the far out chicken that we also ordered had a whole whopping 4 hot peppers on the sub when it’s one of the main ingredients on the sub. This restaurant has gone downhill since the new owners took over. What once was an upstanding restaurant is now just a joke.

I am very disappointed by my experience here. I came in with my family and you can very clearly see on the receipt that I asked for no black olives and black olives were I put on that I had to pick out. I also never asked for this to be a wrap. Based on the website, I assumed this was a sandwich so that didn’t think I had to say I wanted this as a sub. Also it’s a natural thing for people to say if they want to dine in or take it to go, so my brother said it was to go. Monique was very rude about this and basically said “I’m about to close so you can’t dine in anyways.” To be fair, the chairs were up, but I don’t think many places start putting things up close to an hour before closing. Online it says the place closes at 8:00pm and you can see on the receipt we ordered at 7:12pm. I can understand if it was closer to close, but this was a little less than an hour out. I’m very disappointed.
Edit: I started reading some of the other reviews and this seems like it is not just a one off issue. There are a few other reviews mentioning rude staff and poor / incorrect food. Service like this is what kills businesses.

BEAR WITH ME on this long review!.. I am so disappointed! This place used to be so good. We went here for dinner 1.5 hours before closing. First off I have to say how disappointed it was to see 65% of the menu gone but that had nothing to do with my experience. We go here so that we can eat inside and the chairs are up on the tables already! We start to put in our order, I ask for fries, she says the fry machine is down. I start to tell her that with my sub I would like a soft drink, the soft drink machine is down or supposedly does not work (eye roll to both of those).. I have no choice but to get a beverage from the drink cooler, the drinks are not even cold, they are more of a lukewarm. The woman with short hair at the counter is so unbelievably RUDE not only to the other employee but to the customers as well. I asked if the sub I wanted had onions (forgot my glasses) she very rudely answered me “I don’t know if it has onions, I don’t know what it has”.. Meanwhile as we are waiting for our order, another customer walks in and the other employee in the back starts complaining loudly that it is starting to get busy. We get our subs and they are not even made right! They are not at all good, very disappointed as mentioned above, this place used to be so good! Absolute waste of $50!!! Another customer walks in for his pick up and they tell him, we don’t have the tuna you ordered, he says well can I have the chicken parm, she says we don’t have chicken. She was just so very rude and uncaring, her and the other employee argued back and forth constantly in the back. I do believe they had everything that we all asked for, I feel they were lazy and not wanting to turn the fryer on and clean the drink machine again. Seems they cleaned up entirely too early! The atmosphere was very unwelcoming. It’s awkward taking chairs down to sit, it definitely makes you feel unwanted in a dine Sub shop. Very over priced for the service an Food we received! We will NEVER go back to this location!

Painfully disappointing experience. Dave’s Cosmic Subs has always been one of my favorite restaurants. The closest one being about an hour away from me. Finally decided to make the drive as I’ve been craving a meatball sub from here for days. Service sucked, and my sub came out ice cold. I’m not one to write reviews or complain honestly ever but I’m just so upset by this experience.

Def won’t be back! Ordered two large subs and was charged over $20 for each sub yet the screen says a large is $17.99. When I asked about the price and showed the worker their tv says $17.99, I was met with “well I’ve worked here for 2 years and i don’t know why our sign says a different price”. Not sure how you advertise one price but charge another.

Hot meatball sub sandwich served with cold meatballs, all tables in dining room have messes on them, no fries here anymore. Paper covering drink options & menu items. All signs of a failing business. If you guys don’t wanna do it anymore, close the doors.
