First time at Cafe Rio and I should have just listened to all the other reviews.

The food took over 30 minutes to be prepared. The whole time I was waiting, I only heard 3 other dine-in orders be completed. This location does have a drive-thru but with the speed of service so far I don’t know if them having a drive-thru makes sense.

The food portions were fairly light. The protein was really lacking. They charged $1.79 extra for a spoonful of guac. Picture attached with a costco membership card for size reference.

Ordering food was mainly done thru a digital kiosk and once you are ready to pay they force a big screen asking for tip.

Overall this location needs a lot of work. Whether it is franchisee or corporate owned, its needs improvement on service speed and portions..

There were 3 big clumps of pork that they put on my nachos. What sense does this make? Trying to cut it, it was super tough and felt like rubber. Made me gag, so I threw it out. The chicken was the same, but cutting it up was fine. The cheese is barely melted, so either the conveyor oven thing is too fast or not hot enough. I also had to ask for cheese because they forgot…….. the cheese. Asked for a side of jalapeño and when I asked where those were, THAT’S when they told me they were out of them. Kiosk location as well which is a terrible idea.

NOT a fan of the kiosk ordering. Can’t order my food as usual at original locations. Cuttimg back on employees for food prep just eliminates more customers. They had poor customer service. Restroom had no paper towels and was dirty. While employees are in the back B.S’ing. If this is the future of Cafe Rio you can count myself and the company with me out. Took forever to receive our order for 2 salads. What a waste of a new facility.

Absolutely horrendous service along with paying $1 extra for multiple add ons and sauces and get half the amount. Ordered a bowl with fajita veggies and chicken and it had no veggies or chicken and a pinch of corn salsa. They forgot my queso with the chips and proceeded to fight me that the “side” of queso was what you get when you pay for “regular” chips and queso. I will never be back

I have been a big fan of Cafe Rio for as long as I can remember. This location is disgraceful to the rest of the concept.

Ordering with the employee at the window takes far too long which is an obviously ploy to get you to use the self ordering kiosk. Okay, fine.

If you don’t order in advance, good luck. I’ve never seen any restaurant take so long to make a burrito. Especially one where all of the ingredients are readily available.

The issue with this location is that they deviated from the original concept of walking down the line with the person making your food. This location allows employees to hide in the back with no accountability of any kind.

While waiting over 30 minutes for my food after I placed the order myself on the tablets, I decided to take a look into the kitchen and got to watch my burrito, which was entirely finished, be pushed back behind more and more food. All this order needed, was a lid and a bag. But rather than do that and get my stuff taken care of while the other orders were being done, the person bagging the food placed my burrito behind at least 4 other dishes and then moved my burrito entirely behind the food line where she left it for another 5-10 minutes. How do I know this was my burrito you may ask? I watched them grab it, throw a lid on it, bag it, and hand it to me.

Do yourself a favor and just go to the location on Stephanie.

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The portions were surprisingly small compared to other Café Rio locations. The service felt very nontraditional in a bad way—you don’t order with a person but through a kiosk, which removes the personal touch entirely. After that, you have to finalize your order at the same customer service window while still standing in the same crowded dining area where people are trying to eat. It felt unorganized and uncomfortable.

Overall, the customer service was poor, the flow of the restaurant didn’t make sense, and it lacked the welcoming feel Café Rio usually has. Definitely not the standard I’ve come to expect.

This might be the WORST location in the city. Every time I order food from this location it is always wrong or something is always missing. This latest attempt I’ve tried will be my last. I got stale/undercooked chips and fajita peppers were added to my burrito mistakingly. If I were allergic I’d probably be making a trip to the ER right now or in need of an Epipen. I know fast food isn’t always great, but this location NEVER gets it right. The people there seem nice enough, but I will be driving to the Stephanie location from now on. It’s a shame considering this location is 5 minutes from my house. This location also was not busy when I put my order in.

Drive thru was not open. Entered restaurant and observe several customers sitting and not eating. Some customers requested refunds due to long wait times. I waited 45 minutes for my order which consisted of a quesadilla. Meal was basically thrown together with chicken on half. Missing sour cream and salsa, which I didn’t notice until I arrived home. Nice older lady apologized for the wait. This was your second chance for improvement. Not much change. Won’t be back

This was a deeply disappointing experience from start to finish. The staff was unprofessional, unwelcoming, and noticeably rude. When we went to the front counter to let them know we were there for a pickup, the employee named Desiree responded with clear attitude. Even my significant other—who rarely comments on service—immediately noted how unfriendly the interaction was.

The staff appeared more focused on chatting amongst themselves than on preparing food. The dining area was messy, with rice and sauce scattered across the tables, so we opted to wait in the chairs instead of sitting.

The food itself was no better. It arrived cold, sloppily assembled, and poorly prepared. The quesadilla was soggy to the point it couldn’t hold its shape, and the meat portion was very small. The burrito was missing the sauce we paid extra for, forcing us to add our own at home. Overall, the order was inaccurate and the quality far below expectations. Even the lime provided was so tiny it felt like an afterthought—better to grab a fresh one from Smith’s.

This is a new location in Cadence. We expected better, but it fell far short. If you’re thinking of ordering from this chain, visit another location.

Love cafe rio,can’t stand this location.service is terrible here.theyre either not open when they are supposed to be,dont have ingredients you want,or they take 15 minutes just to acknowledge you at the drive through.ive even had one experience where they “didnt have the drive though open” 10 minutes after opening time.drove around to dine in,and clearly saw the employees running to the front door to lock it so my wife and I couldn’t enter.this place is a joke.ive left without food 3-4 times now due to frustration, and i will not be back.ive NEVER left a bad review anywhere online; but this place has just simply met a level of poor service that needs to be addressed.
