Right when you walk in, you are greeted by a calm atmosphere. While small in size, it is huge in flavor and Italian heart. My husband got the rigatoni, as requested by the waitress, and it did not disappoint! I got the margarita pizza, which had the most amazing crust, made in-house, and the cheese pull was cinema-worthy! My son got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. That was easily the best any of us have ever had. The chicken cutlets melted in our mouth. The butter and salt flavor were superb, and the dish didnt even have pepper in it, but you didn’t miss it! We also got the mozzarella garlic bread which also had a cheese-pull that was prize-worthy, accompanied by marinara dipping sauce.
We went before the dinner rush, and it was nice and quiet with Italian jazz music at a desirable volume. The waitress was very kind and generous with the amount of check ins to our table. Even though it is a 40-minute drive from us, we will absolutely be returning!

Stupendo!! The best gem in La Mesa. First time of many to come. Thank you Mrs Lisa for the lovely hospitality and wow, what a special dinner experience. Have to say was hard to decide with so many authentic Italian options. I ordered cannelloni and was so delicious in every bite. Husband order cheese ravioli and while he was still eating he started describing what he was going to try next time and who we would bring with us. Grazie Mille

Place is small and quaint. Just wish there was some white noise so you didn’t hear everyone’s conversations so easily. But the food is AMAZING! We could easily tell the pasta is made fresh as well as the alfredo sauce. For once, Italian food worthy of the price. The atmosphere was dim and there were little touches like the bread doilies and having our silverware not wrapped and that was nice. Waitress was fantastic as well and very attentive. I regret not taking pictures but they would not have served the quality justice anyways. We plan to return.

Hands down, my absolute favorite place ever. Food, atmosphere, service, everything! I found this gem during covid and have not stopped raving about it or visiting since. Lisa was, is, and continues to provide the most attentive service ever and truly knows how to make all guests feel looked after.
The food is amazing, I’ve tried so many different things on the menu but my heart belongs to the rigatoni bolognese and the cheesy garlic bread. But EVERYTHING is incredibly delicious.
The restaurant itself is quite small, very intimate, so definitely make reservations for the weekends as they will be booked!!!!

Date Night – Lived near this place for 20 years, but never eaten there… about 1/2 mile from our front door. We shared a Caprise salad & garlic bread… then Louise had a 8″ pesto pizza… me the Steak Sinatra. Great food! Great service!

Great experience tonight at Nonno’s! We decided to find a restaurant within walking distance of our hotel and stumbled upon this gem. Lisa was our waitress and was so helpful and attentive. The veggie calzone was huge and came out piping hot; it was delicious with or without the marinara sauce on the side.

Food was amazing! Lisa was the best host and gave a great wine suggestion along with $10 off our bottle. The ravioli with mushroom pesto sauce is the best Italian dish I’ve ever tasted. It’s a little hole in the wall that deserves recognition for sure. Must try if in La Mesa!

My team was visiting SD and we had a large order catered by them for 30+ people. The food and service were excellent. We were nearly an hour late to pick up (traffic), but they kept all the food hot for us. They loaded our car and went through all the details with us. Thank you so much!
