We met with the owner to taste test cakes and fillings for my daughter’s wedding cake and the groom’s cake. He was professional, polite, precise, easy going, and knowledgeable. The cakes were so delicious that we also purchased the shower cake from there. Everyone raved about all three cakes. This establishment is a jewel! I wish I had known about it sooner as we would have purchased all our cakes from there! Amazing!

Grabbed a King Cake from here last year and all they had were cinnamon. Wasn’t fond of it, so like most places give them a second try. Grabbed a cream cheese one this year. It’s nothing more than bread with icing on top.

These reviews are LOOOONNNG overdue. I purchased 2 birthday cakes from here. One was this past year in June. The other was 3 years ago in July. I am big on cakes and ensuring a cake matches the theme. I’ve purchased cakes in the past from other bakeries or individuals who bake on the side. A few have left me DISTRAUGHT and in tears because it was not at all what I asked for and the design was just horrible. I’ll start with the cake from June 2025. This was the 1st time a cake made me teary eyed in a GOOD way. I was soooooo excited, elated and PLEASED when I laid eyes on my mom’s 60th bday cake. I didn’t get this excited for my wedding cake 20 yrs ago & it was magnificent as well. I showed him (sorry I can’t remember your name because my review is 6mos later) a picture of a slot machine cake I wanted. Not only did he make it spot on with a few tweaks, but it was also much larger than the picture I showed. On top of that, the taste was fresh, moist and delicious!! Some bakers/designers are good at decorating cakes but the taste is horrible or dry. I had no idea how heavy the cake was because he brought it to the car for me. Once home, I struggled getting it out of the car and into the event center because it was soooo heavy. I developed extra muscles that day because I refused to drop it or allow anyone else to touch it!!!! The photo on the left is the example showed. The photo on the right is the actual cake.
The cake 3 years ago I showed an example for a paintball party theme. There was a picture on their website at the time of one. That cake was actually a personal cake made for the baker/designer’s child at the time. The design nor the cake disappointed! It matched my son’s party theme and backdrop PERFECTLY!!! I am honestly unsure if this was the same baker/designer as the casino cake since the paintball cake was July 2022. If so, I’m grateful to have gotten him twice.
I’m not local so I don’t get a chance visit this spot often. If I were, I would definitely come here for ALL birthday cakes each year. But for major milestones, I make the drive from Baton Rouge to Hammond because I know I won’t be disappointed. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Sorry for the late review.

In December 2024, my husband and I got married and we ordered our wedding cake and grooms cake from the cocoa bean. Till this day we still have people asking us where we got our wedding cake from and saying it was the best cake they ever had at a wedding. We saved our cake topper in the freezer and this past December celebrated our one year anniversary with our thawed out cake topper. I can’t believe how well it held over the past year. It was just as good as it was on our wedding day!! I would 10 out of 10 recommend the cocoa bean to anybody!

I love the bean but they are very pricey and they will charge you for every little detail. One time I brought a turkey croissant and i asked for extra lettuce and they changed me a $1 extra which is crazy but besides that I love this place.

We booked the Cocoa Bean bakery for our wedding, and again for our anniversary, and they did not disappoint!! Our wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous. They were very helpful with the creation process, having no issue with us doing two separate cake flavors on different layers. It was, by far, the best cake I’ve ever tasted, and many of our wedding guests said the same (their strawberry filling is delectable!). We decided to get a replica of the cake for our first year anniversary, and Cocoa Bean ever decorated it to match the original first tier of our wedding cake! It was just as delicious as the one from our wedding. Nothing but glowing reviews from us!!

This team made my husband a carrot cake for his birthday and it was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. We just moved into the area and finding a great bakery takes a little time. We were happy to find this place so quickly with the service, price, and various options we look for in a bakery.

We ordered our wedding and groom’s cake from The Cocoa Bean bakery and we were so happy with the service, the flavors, the experience with Anthony deciding flavors and design. Everyone was so great and welcoming. The wedding cake was so beautiful and perfect and so delicious!!! The groom’s cake was amazing, exactly what we wanted, and even better than we could’ve imagined. We are customers for life!!! I can’t wait to go get another cake.
