Incredible burger place right next to Mercato Tomato Pie (in fact, the hallmark they’re physically connected). Had the Devils Burger (jalapeño, bacon, and cheddar) it was the best burger I’ve had in quite a long time. The fries were incredible – it came with a squeeze bottle of ketchup, but it seemed almost sacreligious to the use it, as they were so hot and the right level of crispy. Had to take a picture before tucking in, because even then I knew I was going to completely demolish this once I started.
Needless to say, I definitely recommend this place!

The other day I got, Novelty Burger & Bar, for dinner. I ordered their, All The Way Burger (Medium Rare) w/ Fries, Secret Sauce, and drinks. The burger’s flavor was phenomenal. The chili was an excellent addition to the burger, but really could not taste the flavor of the chili, when tasted alone. The ATW Burger also came with onions and lettuce. The additions of raw onion and lettuce brought out satisfying textures to the burger, and also served as an excellent compliment. Their secret sauce is phenomenal as well. Not a huge fan of fries, but absolutely ate all of them, with their sauce! Totally wish I could remember the name of the blue drink, but it was really good as well. All in all, from customer service, to food quality, the ambience, and how the total experience adds up. Would highly recommend, Novelty Burger & Bar, to anyone in the Newark Area looking for some quality food!

Good burger joint. Had the Devils burger and would do so again. The fries had a nice mix of crispy and soft gooey inside. Good beer selection.

Ordered cheesy fries, which were extremely watery. Basically a pool of cheese under the fries. The veggie burger didn’t taste seasoned at all which was disappointing considering how good it sounded. Also had a Brie cheese burger which was okay, nothing to rave about. Just very disappointing overall.

This place is always an option for a quick bite to eat. Burgers are pretty good. The novelty sauce is amazing. My take-out experience is always seamless.
However, I decided to dine-in on a Friday night. I will say it was about an hour and a half before closing. Maybe that contributed to me having to get up, after 15 minutes of sitting, to grab someone to serve our table. There was a large party of about 10 who consumed two of the hightop tables that could have possibly thrown her into the weeds, however, the service was horrible and the server was noticing tipsy/drunk. Other than that, there were two or three other tables besides ours and a few people sitting at the bar. Totally manageable if you are sober. I’m all for a good time, but at 5 months pregnant, I really just want my food in a timely manner. She kept apologizing, which is nice but proper service would have been better. In the end, she did not make my boyfriend pay for his beer that he waited a half hour for and only received because he got up to ask someone else (a person was behind the bar but not really taking orders.). So we shouldn’t have even been charged for it nor should it have even been mentioned but she said she didn’t charge because she “felt bad”.
Anywho, music was great. Basketball games were on but I will stick to calling in my order and picking it up from here on out. The dine-in service was horrible.
