I regularly eat at New China Restaurant whenever we visit Saginaw. My aunt introduced me to the restaurant years ago and we continue the tradition. My favorite food there is their homemade egg roll. So tasty!

This takeout experience was a complete disaster. The restaurant used cheap styrofoam boxes instead of the normal flat containers, and the lid literally broke with holes in it—food was leaking everywhere. It was messy, frustrating, and completely unacceptable. For a restaurant that charges what they do, this level of carelessness is shocking. I won’t be ordering from here again, and I honestly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone until they fix their packaging. Absolute disappointment.

My daughter and I had got some take out from here on Christmas Day and it was amazing. The egg drop soup, crab cheese and egg rolls are delicious. I had also gotten fried rice and sweet and sour chicken in the large size. Honestly, there was enough chicken to feed maybe 3 people. My daughter had gotten the teriyaki salmon with steamed rice and the portion size was huge. We definitely will be back to try different dishes. I would recommend to give them a try if you have not!

When I came to pick up my carry out order, I provided my name and information. I was then told that I could not have my food unless I tipped. I was confused as I had already tipped online. I tried to explain to the woman helping me that I had paid and tipped already online and she said I still owed her tip money and she would not give me my food. I eventually got her to give me my food for an extra $2 tip on the card (though she demanded cash at first). I come home and open up the bag… nothing I ordered was in there. So not only did I have to haggle to get food i ALREADY PAID FOR but I didn’t even GET the food I paid for. When I tried to call and correct the issue I was interrupted several times and talked over. It’s almost 10pm and they demanded I come back to the store.

Made a mistake going here tonight instead of Park Asia. The restaurant was dirty, first of all. Plates left on tables that looked like they were there for hours. The lady who must be the owner was racist, I walked in with an elderly black man, went to look at the menu at the side and she IMMEDIATELY asked obnoxiously if I was with him. I said no, he got really angry and confronted her about it. It was the way she said it too, like she wanted to start something.
Then I finally decided and went to order. She was absolutely rude and snippy. I felt uncomfortable. Waited, for a LONG time. No effort made to pick up plates, even when she was in the dining room. Kitchen looked like a wreck. I have no idea how anyone can be proud of a kitchen like that.
Got the food, it didn’t look right at all. Got home, and many things weren’t right. Went back, she claimed it was right but I know I didn’t get my crab cheese. She actually went back with the egg rolls, took one out and gave me the crab cheese as well in seconds. I know she probably is reusing that egg roll. I know it. You’re not supposed to do that, I’ve been told by several establishments. My Szechuan chicken didn’t LOOK like Szechuan chicken I’d ever had and it didn’t even taste spicy.
I’d say this was the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to, but the current/newer owners of Hunan currently have that crown, but at least they’re not rude. Don’t go here. My dad even had stories about how bad this place was years ago to put icing on the cake.

Very nice couple , hard working very accommodating, they never tried to oversell it was towards their closing time, under $Dollars with an awesome green tea. Made it home I should have taken a second cup of rice. The food was great!.

Ordered lunch at 12:30. Arrive just after 1pm to pick it up. Door was locked and the building seemed dark. There were chairs piled in front of the door, so I assumed the business was closed and left. 90 minutes later, the owner calls me and yells at me for “wasting her time and food” after she told me she saw me try to open the door and leave and that I was supposed to call her from the parking lot? No where on the website where I placed my order did it say this. No where on the locked door was there anything indicating I needed to go to another door. The owner said she clearly saw me make an effort to enter the business and pick up my food but chose to call me and yell over the phone instead of giving me the information I was missing.
I’ll never be back but may place more orders to not pick up in the future.

One of the best Chinese restaurants my family and I have ordered from in a long time. We ordered via door dash for the first time since I had a gift card and had recent surgery. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious. Showed up hot with great portions. Chicken was perfectly cooked and the best tasting crab cheese!! Egg rolls also perfectly crispy and delicious and fresh ingredients are used for all the food. Great job! We definitely will ordered again!

Though it is hamstrung by being takeout-only, and somewhat understaffed compared to demand, this is probably the best Chinese restaurant anywhere north of Flint. Quality is absolutely second to none, everything is as fresh as can possibly be, and they keep the prices very reasonable.
