I live on Hillcrest and I am tired of the loud music/karoake/yelling by patrons. I read a comment on another review where the owner stated he’d work on the music being off by 2AM. No! What you need to do is keep the music within the 4 walls of your sports bar! All my neighbors are sick and tired of not being able to sleep. How’d you like it if your sleep was disrupted EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND FOR 7 YEARS?!

Their music is too loud. I don’t even live that close and I be hearing it past 2:00AM! This ridiculous especially when the owner supposedly made the bar soundproof 6 years ago. So either close ya door or fix soundproofing instead of saying the music be off by 2AM because you know the music be going past that time. And there is no reason why it need to be heard at the top of La Colina

Rancho Sports Bar has no consideration for the neighborhoods nearby. Their loud off key karaoke singing can be heard a mile away up until 2AM. Nearby residents work different shifts and people need their sleep.
***After owners response I’d like to mention it is now 2:45AM and the music is louder than before. Sounds like it could be coming from their guests motorcycles. Loud music and loud revving of bikes

Semi Regular here. A bar for people to mix, just encompasses the spirit of California. Mark, Stephanie, and Trina are the lovelyist bartender and AJ is a crazy hardworking barback.
Also I love putting my terrible music to priority before karoke on Fridays.

Karaoke on Thursdays is a good time. Good drinks and prices. The chef on Sundays makes delicious soul food. She does taco Tuesday as well. Loved it!

My girls have me the most AWESOME graduation party at this small but popping bar.

The service was some of the worst I’ve encountered in recent memory. We walked in on a relatively slow evening, so there was no excuse for the indifference and borderline rudeness from the staff. We waited nearly 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us—no greeting, no menu, no drink offer. When someone finally did approach, they seemed annoyed we were even there. It set the tone for the rest of the night. The food, if you can call it that, was equally disappointing. I understand this is a sports bar and expectations should be reasonable, but even basic items like wings and fries were barely edible. The wings were dry, overcooked, and drenched in a sauce that tasted like it came from a generic store-brand bottle. The fries were soggy and clearly reheated. We also ordered nachos, which came out cold in the center and somehow still burned on the edges—a mystery only explained by poor use of a microwave. Portion sizes were stingy, especially considering the inflated prices. Now, let’s talk about the drinks. They were ridiculously overpriced for what you get. The cocktails tasted watered down, and the beer selection was limited and lukewarm. My friend sent his drink back twice due to it being undrinkably strong the first time and weirdly diluted the second. Either they don’t measure their pours, or they don’t care enough to get it right. Either way, not worth the money. The environment itself isn’t much better. TVs are everywhere, which is fine for a sports bar, but the audio setup is a mess—too loud in some areas, completely inaudible in others. Combine that with sticky floors, wobbly tables, and the unmistakable smell of stale beer lingering in the air, and it feels more like a dive bar that’s given up trying than an energetic sports venue. And don’t even get me started on the bathrooms—unkept, out of supplies, and borderline unsanitary. Another major issue was the crowd and management’s failure to manage it. There were clearly intoxicated patrons being overserved, causing uncomfortable situations for other guests. At one point, a loud argument broke out right next to us and no staff intervened. It created an unsafe and chaotic vibe. To top it off, the final bill was full of unexplained charges. When we asked about it, the server shrugged and said “that’s just how it rings up.” No apology, no effort to clarify. We were essentially charged for their mistakes, and by then, we just wanted to leave. I’ve been to many sports bars, from low-key neighborhood joints to upscale venues, and Rancho Sports Bar ranks near the bottom in terms of overall experience. It’s clear that management doesn’t prioritize customer service, cleanliness, food quality, or value. It’s not just one thing—it’s a combination of everything that made the visit so thoroughly disappointing. If you’re considering going to Rancho Sports Bar, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. There are far better places in the area that offer decent food, fair prices, clean environments, and staff that actually care whether or not you have a good time. Until major improvements are made, this place is firmly on my “never again” list.

Rancho is a great dive bar. The atmosphere is calm and collective patrons are nice and friendly. Bartenders: Stephanie , Craig and Denise and Ryan are some of the most kindest persons I have met – yours truly

Don’t let the old school facade deter you. This place has a giant 4 screen video jukebox, several large flat screens to check sports, a covered smoking patio and a friendly vibe. Good service, fun patrons, strong/affordable drinks, and a long bar with plenty of seats. They even have a deejay on some nights. Grown folks’ playground!
