Review for Pizza Haven “NY Style” – Sun City, FL
Being originally from New York, I’ve been on the hunt for a true local spot that lives up to the authentic NY-style pizza standard. After reading the positive reviews and studying the online photos, I had high hopes that Pizza Haven would be that hidden gem.
To really test the menu, I placed a large order—three XL pizzas, wings, and what was supposed to be a pizza roll (about $115 in total). Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. The pizza roll I ordered turned out to be a calzone, the pizzas were extremely oily, and the toppings on the supreme were diced instead of sliced. The wings were breaded, which was surprising given the “fried/baked” description.
The biggest disappointment was the crust. Authentic NY-style pizza should have a thin, crisp undercarriage that supports the slice when folded. What I received was chewy, saggy, and undercooked dough that didn’t resemble what was advertised. Honestly, it gave the impression of pre-made dough rather than fresh, in-house preparation as the restaurant claims.
I really wanted this place to be great, but the quality just wasn’t there. Between the misleading photos online and the underwhelming execution, I walked away feeling disappointed. At this price point, the food should be far better—it was more on par with gas station pizza than authentic New York style.

My husband and I were craving wings and saw this place on the way home. The owner, Alex, was very nice and accommodating. We genuinely liked him.
We ordered 24 baked wings with Buffalo, BBQ, and Parmesan cheese flavors. I honestly want to help this place improve, so here’s our honest review.
The flavors of the wings tasted really good. However, we noticed that the texture of the wings was not very tender or crispy. I hope this review helps the business take a closer look at that.
We’re not criticizing—we honestly just want to help the business grow. They are nice people who are simply doing their best to get sales.

Both pizzas were undercooked, limp and greasy, garlic knots were good. Got a meatball and ricotta, you can see very limited toppings, didn’t take pic of other pizza it was very sparse on the pepperonis and undercooked as well. Flavor was decent just wish it was cooked more and more toppings for the price we paid. Just moved here and first pizza place we tried and have to say we most likely will never be back.

I wanted to like this place but after my first order only feel ripped off and upset about the poor food. Don’t ever use the name of this business and NY in the same statement! This was a thinner, soft and floppy crust topped with preservative laden cheap tomatoes, low end mozzarella and about a pound of powdered garlic. I would have thought that was as bad as it gets but next up are the sandwiches. We also picked up and now threw out an eggplant parm covered in ricotta and a chicken parm sandwich. The sauce may be worse than any frozen pizza I’ve ever had and coupled with some sort of imitation butter and tons of powdered garlic. My gums sting from the preservatives and the entire $56 order is garbage! What a waste! Worst pizza I’ve encountered locally.

Meatball Sandwich and Pepperoni Pizza. Too thin for my liking because I like thicker dough. I hear they have a thicker slice, I may try that next time. The taste of the pizza itself however was very good. The meatballs in the sandwich were either cut into half pieces or just very small meatballs. It got lost in the cheese and sauce. I’m not sure if they were just having an off day, so looking forward to trying them out again at a later date.

A little love in appearance will go a long way. The interior needs some cleaning and some attention to details. The service was… odd. Not unfriendly but not enthusiastic either. Seemed unsure of the menu items when we asked questions.
The food- pizza has a soft dough, it isn’t crispy. Lots of cheese, which is great but makes it super greasy. The sauce has good flavor in my opinion. Overall probably a 5/10 as it stands.
The garlic knots are super small and the sauce served cold, which takes away from the fluffy, warm garlic experience that I look for in a knot.
Not sure if we’ll try again- there are other local places that more closely hit the mark.
