I know they just opened last week so I feel bad leaving a 1 star review, but I honestly can’t remember the last time I actually threw away food after 1 bite. We got 2 bowls, took 1 bite each and threw them both away.

I’m giving the service the benefit of the doubt because they were training employees and they’re obviously been open only a week, it took almost 30 minutes to prepare my bowl while all the ingredients are pre made you just scoop them into the bowl.

I got the chipotle chicken bowl with guacamole, I can’t stress how bad this was, the chicken was slimy and grey, I took 1 bite against my judgement by just looking at it and to no surprise it tasted atrocious.

I was really hoping it was at least average as they are local and a good change from everything in the area. Unfortunately it was very much so below average there is no way we can come back. Hopefully they get some better food ASAP.

If you’re anywhere near Saddle Brook and haven’t tried Cuban Eddie’s lunch special, you’re seriously missing out! For just $6, you get a plate that’s packed with flavor and value — three perfectly roasted and seasoned chicken drumsticks, fluffy rice, rich and savory beans, and a few sweet plantains that hit the spot. It’s not just lunch — it’s enough food to save some for later and still feel satisfied.

The chicken, rice, and black beans was only 6 bucks via a lunch special. It’s absolutely delicious!

Disappointed w/the food at the Saddle Brook location. We ordered from Dumont many times in the past. Our office moved to Saddle Brook and Eddie’s just opened here. I was looking forward to the great food I remembered, but it was so disappointing. I got the roasted chicken lunch that I used to always get and that definitely did not taste like it used to; I can deal with that, but then the chicken seemed a little rubbery. The beans were so bland and you definitely don’t get enough to go with the rice. The tostones seemed like they were frozen, not made fresh, but weren’t terrible. The beef empanada was ok, that at least had some flavor. The quality and flavor of food at this location is definitely very different than what we used to get from the Dumont location a couple years ago. Very sad because I was really looking forward to ordering from Cuban Eddie’s again after our move! Maybe it’s an off day. I’ll try it one more time and update my review if warranted.

I was excited to try their food and unfortunately it was a bad experience. The meat tasted old, had a bitter after taste and plantains tasted weird.

Thank you for your reply I just want to clarify my experience in a respectful way. It wasn’t my fault that someone else was allowed to pick up my order. When I arrived, I had my phone in my hand and was ready to show my receipt and order number, but no one asked to verify it. Instead, I was told that “someone came in “and I was even given a description of a person I never sent to pick up my food.

For future customers, it may help to verify orders with a receipt or order number to avoid situations like this. I’m not upsetjust think it’s an important point to address so the same thing doesn’t happen again.

I do appreciate that you added the plantains, but respectfully, the food itself just wasn’t good. I’m only sharing my honest experience. Thank you for offering to make it right.

I could not take the day off on 12.24.2025. I could not cook a proper Noche Buena meal. These two fine gentlemen made up for that by making a fine take-out of lechón asado, black beans and rice, and fried yuca! The black beans even had pieces of green pepper in it, as close to the kind my grandmother, mother, and I (when I have the time) made!

Gracias for making Noche Buena possible for me when I could not do it myself.

Bendiciones! Blessings!

*****Edited because the owner responded implying that I was dishonest. I have receipts, literally lol. Ordered 12:08, arrived 12:39. I don’t know where they got 1:30 from but obviously they have no idea what is going on over there. Nice try, but my review stands. DO BETTER.

I almost never write reviews unless something blows my mind or is truly terrible. This place – DISGUSTING. Stay far away, you’ve been warned. I looked into them when first opened and did not order due to the bad reviews. I decided to look into it again today and and saw some great reviews and thought maybe they’d found a rhythm since opening, so I gave them a try. Well, I guess the reviews are from staff and friends or they’re paying for reviews because this is literally the most disgusting food I’ve ever tasted. Had to throw away $30 worth of food. I got the Lechon with white rice and red beans, fried yuca, and maduros. Well first, “fried” yuca? yea right. It was so mushy and gummy. The mojo sauce that came with tasted like citrus cleaner. garlic tasted rancid and it was like straight lemon juice with some garlic thrown in. The plantains were also gummy, and somehow cold and looked plastic. They were not “fried”. They appeared to be frozen reheated undercooked plantains. Gross. The lechon was so dry I couldn’t swallow it without a sip of water. The taste was ok, a hint of citrus but not at all flavorful, onions looked like plastic or onion skins – tough and not not marinated, and again…meat dry like sawdust. The only edible thing was the beans and rice, which was soft enough and had ok flavor but still wasn’t worth the effort. This was my first and last time ordering, and it was so bad that I will actively tell family and friend to avoid this place even if they didn’t ask.

Cuban Eddie’s is one of my go-to spots in Saddle Brook. Their ropa vieja is tasty and The ribs are another favorite — perfectly seasoned, fall-off-the-bone, and always satisfying. Portions are generous, so you definitely get great value along with amazing taste. If you’re craving hearty, delicious Cuban comfort food, this place never disappoints.
