Authentic tacos, tortillas, and more. Where else can you get real asada tacos for $1

This place is the most authentic Mexican food I had in Greenville so far!! I came for Taco Tuesday/Thursday and had a great experience. I ordered six tacos, and every single taco was authentic, fresh, flavorful, and generously filled. They have a wide variety of meat choices. They brought out complimentary duritos to start. The service was kind, the atmosphere was relaxed. My food cost $6, but even without the special, the prices are very reasonable. In a time when even fast food costs $10+, this place is a rare gem. I truly hope they stay in business for a long time. I will be revisiting to try more!

I went here for the first time today. Have lived in the area from ’06 to now, lived in Mauldin for the last 6 years. I have taken my dogs to get groomed and shirts to be tailored at the same strip yet never tried it. I have been missing out! But today will not be the last time we go there. They were not super busy so our service was great. Quaint, nice little Mexican restaurant with good food and good service. Green sauce was the bomb!

The people who took care of me at this restaurant were incredible. Their food was inexpensive and wonderful. I tried it because the proximity to my workplace and the hospitality I was presented will make me come back often. Do not miss out on this place. The food was made to order and came out quickly. For my half hour lunch break I felt like I had plenty of time to pick up food and eat without feeling rushed.

As a picky mexican, this place has my approval. I ordered the parrillada and it was simply delicious. They were playing los Acosta in the background which made the experience even better. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Will come back again for sure.

Order wrong. Order cold. Though it was good food. Parking sucks. Music from kitchen was good, add music from behind bar and you’re not sure what you are listening to. But then she turned on the tv. Then we heard three noises.

Real Mexican food … no Americanized soupy beans or swimming in cheese. This is the Real Deal. Taco Tuesday specials with many varieties of Tacos and Quesidillas for $1 or $2. The servers are super nice and will help explain the different dishes served. Highly recommend for a very casual, excellent lunch.

Authentic as authentic can get. I found this place on Google and with its great reviews, decided to give it a try. I should mention that. This restaurant also has a second listing or identity on Google by the name of “The Jalapeño Mexican Grill” both have the same phone numbers.
I happen to walk in on $.99. Taco Tuesday.
I tried the pastor, carnitas, asada and cuerito. Pastor was my favorite and cuerito was also delicious!
My total bill was $5.94
My advice to the owner as a restaurant professional, is you are not making any money on this. If the place was completely packed and everyone was buying sides, then I’d be all in on this strategy. But there was at least eight people there when I was there. A lost Leader strategy is supposed to bring in an excessive amount of guests which then you sell other things to to make up for the profit of the lost leader. I didn’t see this happening.
Manny my Server was excellent.

You do not have to give away your food to make a profit. The food was a good enough quality that you should have higher prices than $.99! There is no way given food costs in 2025 that you can be making money on this menu on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is my humble opinion as a restaurant executive. I would recommend a limit if you wanted to try that pricing, as in the first three are $.99.
In any case, the food was as authentic as it gets.
Until they change the strategy, you need to get here on Tuesdays or Thursdays for their $.99 tacos.

Went in on a Sunday to grab lunch to go. Tried the Barbacoa de barrego and of course the MENUDO! Listen. I’ve had menudo in Texas, DC and now GVL. This spot definitely hold up!! Each ingredient was purposeful and delicious pure happiness ever bite! Writing this from the bed because the itis has kicked in.

Very authentic Mexican cuisine. Tacos are $1 on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Menudo was fantastic as well. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.
