Went to purchase chocolates from behind their counter for a birthday gift today. I gave three stars because the chocolate is good but the customer service fails. When my husband and I walked in we were greeted by a very unfriendly older woman behind the counter . She had zero people skills and made us feel like we were an inconvenience to her. This is not the way to encourage us to come back in and pay for expensive chocolate . The service with the previous owner was so much better. Moving forward we will go to Krauses.

Stopped here on 12/22/25 around 10:30. All the while I was in there an older woman behind the counter was talking loud about everything and anything. Making comments about people outside beeping their horns to how she used to hire people and she was better etc etc. I went to check out, the phone rang, she proceeded to answer it, going on and on, not engaging with me as the customer she was waiting on, I said nothing to her, took my stuff and proceeded to leave she YELLS, sorry about that mam have a nice holiday, now I found that rude, obnoxious and unprofessional. She should have said to the person on the phone, please hold or let the other person behind the counter take the call. I just lost my sister a few months ago, this Christmas is extremely difficult for my family I did not need that. I called to speak to the owner, who I knew was in the store as he just waited on a customer before me and I was told he wasn’t in! NEVER EVER WILL I GO BACK! The woman was older, heavy set with a pinkish sweater on! Take a lesson in customer service!

5 Star experience start to finish from Uncle Sam’s! They absolutely knocked it out of the park on this custom order! I came to them with ideas and photos for custom chocolate covered strawberries and the team FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. Give this place and chance to do your custom order especially with these holidays coming up. Keep your business with a home town outfit and not a national brand. Did an online purchase ordered Cashew Top Hats and I was sent Walnut Top Hats candies instead! I HATE WALNUTS. DUE to me working and not opening package right away I could not send back due to past 3 days! $27 plus mailing fee is pretty expensive for getting the wrong Product! Very upset as that seems deliberate Cashews and Walnuts do not look or taste alike! Plus they won’t apologize on some of the negative reviews. I know you read this!

I recently came into the shop to purchase various chocolate goods for some friends and family, and was very pleased by the variety and the quality of the candy. I was referred by a friend, who raved about the taste…..but warned me about the staff. I am sorry to say that the warning was true. The staff member who served me was incredibly rude and unhelpful; every question I asked was met with derision, and I felt as if I was being rushed out the door. I don’t think service workers need to be all sunshine and smiles, but being actively hostile is really unfortunate and unnecessary. The candy is some of the best I have ever had, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully if I visit again it will be a better experience.

We used Uncle Sam’s Chocolate for a business awards dinner – 150 people. Each person received a lovely little box of truffles at their place setting. I was ordering from out of state so I spoke directly to the owner Russ, and he couldn’t have been more helpful. Such a lovely person! He actually drove the chocolate to our dinner site for me! (Thank you, Russ!) As far as the taste – EVERYONE Loved them!!! I even had some colleagues, also out of state, ask me to send them the link so they can place personal orders in the future.
I love supporting small businesses and Uncle Sam’s is truly a GEM! I definitely plan on using them again in the future! Thank you so very much!!

Very nice store. Great selection of all things chocolate. I come here specifically for the plain chocolate fudge. These guys make the best fudge in the region. You’d have to drive to Vermont to find better chocolate fudge and that place burned down a few years ago.

I ordered some pretzels and other items to be shipped. They shipped items to me and not where I wanted it shipped. When I called they said it was because I paid via PayPal. They said that with using PayPal they bill to and ship to the same address. I’ve never heard of this. The solution they gave me was me forwarding it to the address it should have been shipped to originally. So I paid shipping when I placed order and now I will have to pay shipping again. They offered nothing. I now have $67 worth of things I can’t eat and was intended for a thank you gift. I will never buy from them again…
