The Somos Perú Restaurant gives West Haven’s restaurant scene an authentic Peruvian restaurant with all the classics including Ceviche (Fish or Shrimp), Tallarines (Peruvian Spaghetti) and Lomo Saltado (Wok style Beef) and a variety of drinks and desserts (The chicha morada is a must try drink).
Our visit was in the early evening of a week day so we pretty much had the place to our selves at first but by the time we left the evening rush brought lots of people in and the atmosphere picked up with the music, the chatter and the smells of great food cooking. The convenient location with plenty of parking makes it an easy choice at anytime of the day. The 2 minutes walk from the beach is a plus!
We ordered the Pescado Frito Entero (Fried Red Snapper), the chicharrones de pescado (Deep fried fish) and the Bistec a lo pobre (Steak,Rice and Fries).

This new Peruvian spot by the beach is so good! The food is incredible, super flavorful and authentic, you can really tell the owner puts a lot of love into everything. The servers are super kind and friendly, the place is really clean, and there’s a huge parking lot which makes it super convenient to bring the whole family. Perfect spot to grab a delicious meal after the beach. Totally recommend it!

Went to get takeout food was excited first time there got food ordered fried pork chicharon with mashed potatoes and a side of soup and a soda which was a great price for the 16th $17 upon opening the food container was in disarray mashed potatoes were extremely watery pork was not deep fried like classic chicharon more like broiled or boiled a couple pieces all mixed with rice slopped in a container unfortunately will not be going back regretfully everyone has an off day but money is very tight in these difficult times I’ll stick with El Rincon West Haven or MI chinita

Best Peruvian food in CT. The freshest ceviche I have ever had. The food and mojito was excellent. The menu is full of options for everyone from classic Peruvian options to burgers. I will be returning soon to explore the rest of their menu.
