Great food, everything was perfectly prepared. Server was knowledgeable and very nice. Lovely country locale and plenty of parking. Food did take a bit, so be aware.
Prices are reasonable, don’t expect cheap. Make a reservation, or come very early.

The service was slow. The food was mediocre at best they serve an all-you-can-eat fish fry but only bring the plate to you with two small pieces of fish and then wait 20 minutes for a reorder. My wife had the Southern Fried chicken the meat inside was flavorful and juicy but the breading had a burnt taste and was very dark in color! I believe they might have messed up an burnt one earlier in the night and contaminated their Grease. This place used to be really good haven’t been for a while seeing they had a new menu and a new chef will try it one more time but do not recommended so far.

Fishing was a blast! The Hook & Cook fish fry was really good. I recommend the pan seared trout over the beer battered. Loved the trout artwork in the restaurant too. The manager is helpful, nice & knows his stuff. The entire place is spotless & clean. The cute store to buy specialty foods is pretty cool too.

Excellent food. Prices are reasonable, and they have some cheaper specials. The signature trout shore lunch was excellent. You must try the potato pancakes. Trout was delicious and freshly pan fried. Seasonal veggies were clearly freshly cut, and served with fresh dill. Chef came out to check on our table, and the wait staff was attentive. Interior is new and stylish. Loved our Saturday lunch there. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed it! My husband went trout fishing at one of their many ponds. He caught a nice 1lb 7oz. Rainbow trout. Their chef fileted it perfectly. Not a single bone. My husband ordered it pan fried. I was boring and ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Our food was very good! Service was great, everyone was very friendly. A great way to spend a beautiful late summer lunch time. This would be a good idea for anyone, especially families.

Very nice atmosphere. Smoked fish and cheese appetizer and our trout entrees were excellent. Waiter forgot to tell us the 5 dinner specials, which all sounded great (after we overheard them from the next table). Looking forward to our next visit soon!

The customer service was awesome we rode in on motorcycles and we’re soaking wet and they provided us with dry towels.
I hear their fish fry is outstanding.

A hidden gem nestled away in the woods just west of Palmyra, you won’t be disappointed. This was my first dining experience at Trout House so here is my first impression. The staff was very attentive, polite and pleasant. The food was prepared well and the portions I thought were very generous. I was surprised by the number of customers for a cold rainy Friday in April so I would recommend that you make reservation.The menu has some variety with the emphasis on seafood along with NY. Strip for the steak lover, some chicken and pork entrees. I chose the Shrimp Creole for my first visit, the rice was firm and sauce was seasoned so it had just a hit of spicy, the shrimp were fresh and prepared expertly. I would not hesitate to recommend The Trout House.
