Stopped at Tipsy Taco today for take out and walked out with TWO beef burritos for $ 60.00 (!) including a $ 5.00 tip. The menu listed burritos at $ 18.95, with pico de gallo and other ingredients. The menu choice indicated “choose your protein”. When the check came out my 2 burritos totaled $ 55.00! I asked what happened and the server pointed to VERY fine print halfway down in the menu far away from the burritos listing chicken, beef etc and my “beef” was an additional $ 7.95. Never in my life have I paid $ 27.00 for a burrito with some unsalted chips with NO salsa. Next…the pico de gallo was NOT there. No cheese that I could taste, no guacamole, no salsa etc. Just dry unsalted chips and a tablespoon of sour cream in a small container. The service was ok and I literally drive past this place every week. I love Mexican food but my bland unflavored burrito with rice, beef and not much else left me feeling snookered. Just be aware that the burritos apparently are just rice and beans (I’m halfway through and haven’t found the beans yet). 3 stars are generous in this case.

So read the overview which seemed to suggest food was bland. Now for us this has not been the case for our 2 visits. Our favorites are the shrimp and hot chicken tacos. Flavors are layered and heat was definitely present. One of the places where I really appreciate what a good taco can deliver. This is our got to place for tacos when in Albany. Non alcoholic beer was also available and consumed. Not the fault of tipsy taco but the na corona was not as great as expected. I didn’t find the service rushed at all. I found service refreshingly fast….. though on both occasions we were in a bit of a hurry.

We sat at the bar and ate. The bar staff we’re great and polite. The food was outstanding. I had the Thai fish tacos. Very flavorful with a right amount of bite.

We love tipsy taco. Their food and drinks are so good and their chips… the best! I’ve gotten the burrito bowl, surf and turf bowl, birria tacos, it’s all so good! Highly recommend. Friendly staff and nice environment.

Second time going, decent food wish it had a larger selection but not too bad. Service was great, food came out quick and hot.

This place was all around okay, I would come back but it wouldn’t be my first choice for tacos in the area. The interior is very open, and tables are closely packed. The service was very fast (for a Saturday night!) the drinks were great and the dishes were okay not authentic at all, and the gringo came out prepared exactly as the taco did. In my opinion this is a fun taco joint, not recommended for authentic style Mexican food.

First time visiting Tipsy Taco. My friend and I split the sweet corn guacamole. I got the honey mustard chicken crunchwrap which was a special. My friend got the birria nachos but on waffles fries instead of chips.
The Crunchwrap was amazing. They should add it to the menu permanently. My friend enjoyed the birria but said it was a little dry. The sweet corn guacamole was a miss for us. The actual guacamole was great, it was just all the add ins that didn’t seem to mesh well at least to us.
I would definitely go again. It’s a nice spot and there was other things on the menu I would like to try. Everything was priced pretty reasonable too.

My family of 4 had a great time here! Is it authentic Mexican? No. But you come here for the ambiance and their unique choices. We got seated right away inside on a Friday afternoon but there is seating outside (it was just a really hot day or we would’ve chosen the outdoor seating.) The outdoor seating abuts to the bar so you can sit at the bar and enjoy fresh air as well which is nice.
I had the skinny margarita which was yummy and surprisingly strong. We all shared the salsa (which came with tomato and tomatillo salsa) and chips and traditional guacamole. Delicious! My kids (age 4 and 7) also loved them. The kids had the quesadillas and actually ate and liked them which is something for 2 kids. Between my husband and I, we tried the beef gringo, Thai fish and short rib tacos. All delicious.
Will definitely return.

I don’t often do 5 stars but this place is a really special place in the area. The loaded nacho platter was superb. The Margaretas were incomperable and the bartenders, Grant and Todd, were right on top of their game.
You gotta stop here for the food and drinks. Really special!

The atmosphere is nice, I liked the homey decor. Service needs work. I say this because I went with a friend who received her meal almost 20 minutes before I did. I only ordered nachos as an appetizer and 2 tacos as my meal. Why have one person wait while the other gets their main course? We were literally a 2 top, and i had to remind the waitress that i also ordered a meal. I also was charged a credit card fee when I paid with Cash, the same thing happened to my friend also. I would suggest not adding that to someone’s bill until you know the patrons method of payment, especially if you’re not going to pay attention when adding up the customers bill.. The food was alright. It really upset my stomach, and they go over board with the pickled onions and peppers on everything. It wasn’t a bad spot I just don’t think this is where I’d go if I was craving tacos. The taco sizes are also street taco size, for the price of their trio tacos you could go somewhere else for a larger portion for the same price.
