The vegan donuts are also gluten free and I’ve read people say that’s why they’re so crumbly but I’ve had gluten free donuts that didn’t crumble to pieces, maybe adding more moister to the donuts would help? There’s definitely no way you could eat them without the icing
My 3 year old wouldn’t eat her donut, which is saying something
I liked the atmosphere though and staff were extremely nice. I’m sure the non-vegan/non-gluten free donuts are great!
Definitely check them out
The thing that makes these different is the donut base itself. It’s somehow soft, flakey, and chewy all at the same time which is actually quite nice. The dough isn’t overly sweet in itself which makes it a lot easier to eat a whole one (they are softball sized).
The service was really fast and very friendly.
All in all, definitely worth checking out of you don’t mind paying a premium price for a premium donut.
I drove 3.5 hours for opening day. Three. And. A. Half. Hours.
Was it reasonable? No.
Was it worth it? Absolutely.
The staff was upbeat despite what I can only assume was opening day chaos, and the energy in the shop felt like a small-town vibe in a big city.
The doughnuts? Unreal. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside.
French Toast and Sandy Beach are not just sweet for the sake of sweet. These are not gas station donuts pretending to be fancy…
These are main-character donuts!
Big donut energy if you will.
I told myself I’d have one… maybe two today…buuuut here I am working on my third.
No regrets.
If you’re within driving distance, even if that distance is measured in hours, you should go!
Bring a plan for self-control although it won’t work.
Pick up some doughnuts, go to the park to walk a dog, or even buy a dozen to take to the local fire or police station!
Congratulations on an incredible opening. I’ll see you again once I recover from this completely voluntary sugar coma.
Good night!
