This place feels like a best friend. It reminded me of the BEST Sunday night dinner from my childhood. The shrimp and chicken gumbo was so good that my husband kept trying to eat it. And he’s allergic to shrimp! I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s our new favorite after-camping indulgence.

Came here with my best friend and my mom.as it has become our go to place for meals near our house. They have daily and weekly specials which makes it all the more fun so we have new choices as well as their large regular menu. This time I got a new fancy sandwich with steak and a chimmichurri sauce that waa so good! The fireplace was on and we had reservations to sit in front of it because it was very cold outside. We felt so loved and i’ve taken care of by the wonderful staff.

The Dish is a wonderful place for any meal. With active toasters on the booth tables it reminds one to order a many bread items as possible when ‘Dish-ing’ for breakfast. I recommend the Chicken Piccata but substitute the mashed potatoes with linguini or the excellent Patty Melt sandwich served with humungous onion rings. The Salmon Wrap is also very amazing as it is perfect if one doesn’t want to feel stuffed after eating and when paired either with a salad or sliced tomatoes its a perfect balance for one to ‘feel healthier’ The Green Garden salad that can be chopped upon request is a phenomenal and more healthy option and paired perfectly with an ice tea for lunch.

Great Landmark spot for breakfast and dinner.
Been coming for many years.
Service is great and very friendly.
The only reason I gave 3 stars for food is the fact that they charge 75c for one ounce of extra ranch. Feels cheap.
Its not about the 75c its more about a principle concept of extra service.

The bar ladies room doesn’t shut and the interior window is frozen open for at least the last year. The men’s bathroom smells like urine. Will not return.

We had a good experience at dish after a visit to Descanso Gardens. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was good enough. It’s a large restaurant, so even though it was packed and Mother’s Day, we were seated fairly quickly without a reservation.

The coffee was good enough could’ve been a little bit stronger. (Full disclosure I need to super strong coffee to live.)

My kid wasn’t that friendly and just had fries what she thought were good enough. I had the Florentine Quiche (though our server miss heard me initially and brought Florentine Benedict to start. That was quickly replaced with what I had asked for) the quiche was perfectly prepared. Nice and fluffy key should be. Potatoes on the side. Could’ve used a little bit more seasoning did the job the potatoes are supposed to do.

My wife had a Florentine Benedict without the English muffin as she is gluten-free. She thought it was good, but would’ve appreciated more gluten-free bread options.

You can see the local appeal of a restaurant like this with lots of breakfast options, I mean stay when you want classic foods. If we lived in La Canada, I’m sure we’d be there often enough.

Great solid American foods. Service can be unattentive but have never been disappointed by regular menu foods. Probably wouldn’t order happy hour foods again. Will come back regularly because cooks know what they are doing. Prices recently went up and are more like what is normal to La Crescenta bit on the lower end. Would recommend.

A classic breakfast spot on Foothill!

General impressions off the bat:
• lovely staff who clearly love working here!
• coffee was passable but quite mild and watery in my opinion. I prefer stronger-bodied for a dark roast!
• very traditional breakfast menu items
• most dishes range from $15-25. Quite standard for a restaurant in this location but not quite reciprocated in the quality presented… I found the hash browns to be dry and close to burnt, the Eggs Benedict quite bland, and even the johnnycakes were mediocre at best. Obviously not expecting something spectacular with such a classic spot, but I admit that at this price you will surely find more variety, signature craftsmanship, and quality in town

Nonetheless, a really lovely ambience for a quiet morning and I’d imagine it especially attracts an older customer base. Not your trendy stop but stop by if you’re looking for that classic breakfast plate!

I wanted to take my mom to breakfast and found this cute little but really not little place located on Foothill Blvd. I loved the eclectic collection of tables and chairs and the rustic flair. The fact that they had booths going around the circular windows made the atmosphere fill airy. I appreciated how the seating was spaced so that I could have a conversation and not be interrupted by the table next to me. Martine made the amazing suggestion of having the chorizo and eggs, which I paired with a short stack of pancakes and bacon for my mom and I to share. I’ve eaten chorizo and eggs my whole life, but I have never had them taste as delicious as they did at Dish. I was really tempted to try their Bloody Mary. However, that’s a meal in itself, and I was there for breakfast with my mom. So, instead, we had coffee and water. The coffee, a smooth, rich bold flavor. I just wanted more. I need to find out what brand it is because I failed to take note of it. So, if you are in the area and want some spot on, delicious food, you need to stop at Dish. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Sarah, for the service with a smile and definitely Martine for the suggestion.

The service was good and Laura was great! The potatoes where not cooked and when we requested new ones they brought cold ones. Laura did her best to get through potatoes corrected. The manger came and said he was going to take the potatoes off the bill for the inconvenience however, he is to busy with the parties he has here. The bill still has the potatoes on them a full price. Nothing worse then a lying manger with no intentions of making the experience pleasurable for all guests. Very disappointed in the manger. Thank you Laura for doing the best you can with the incompetent Mangement.
Decided to go back for my yearly pumpkin pancakes and today was not a disappointment. I met my friend and we both got the small stack although they were a little smaller than they usually are they were still delicious. We always get the butter and the cinnamon whipped cream on the side . The service was great. The coffee was good and strong. The atmosphere gives you that sitting in the kitchen in the morning, having coffee 10 out of 10 would recommend the pumpkin pancakes and a cup of coffee.
