First time we tried this restaurant in San Dimas. The food is Nepalese Indian food with Himalayan spices and it was very good. We enjoyed it and will definitely return. We ordered garlic naan, potato stuffed naan, Tikka masala, tandoori chicken, vindaloo, momo dumpling, pakora, and Tikka chicken (which was a little on the dry side).
The restaurant also has a retail store where they sell singing bowls, bronze Hindu statutes, incense, bongs and pipes and Himalayan clothing. The retail store was fun and interesting.

I would’ve left a 5 star on “Food” if the lamb wasn’t tough. My lamb curry was great tasting.
Vegetable curry was fantastic.
Friend’s lamb Tiki Masala was also great, sans the tough lamb.
Ided tea has a distinct bold flavor. We think it’s turmeric, but the seever claimed it was cinnamon.

Had a Groupon deal from this place so we went there for an early dinner. Pretty decent Himalayan/Indian food. Had the lamb vindaloo, mixed grilled and Lamb Biryani. The vindaloo was good and a bit spicy. The mixed grilled is a bit dry and the biryani was a bit wet. All over it was decent. Our server was very tentative. The entire restaurant is decorated with Nepali native arts and statues.

Today I came in with my daughter after having a great experience here previously. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing. The food was bland and arrived cold, and the service was mediocre at best. We ordered the shrimp tikki masala and the samosas. The samosas were overwhelmingly onion-heavy, and the tikki masala lacked any real flavor. To make matters worse, the tablecloths were covered in old food stains from previous guests, which was very off-putting. Given the prices, the quality of the food and cleanliness were not worth it. When we mentioned our concerns to the server, he said that’s just how the food is made and did not apologize or attempt to address the issue. I would not recommend dining here unless you’re comfortable paying a high price for food that lacks flavor and care.

Fantastic Nepalese spot. The veggie momos had the ideal wrapper-to-filling ratio and deep, savory flavor; I could have made a meal of them alone. Daal was comforting and delicious, chicken tikka masala came luxuriously creamy, and the eggplant-potato (Bhanta/Baingan Aloo) was my surprise favorite—rich, spiced, and addictive. Only miss: the raita skewed sweeter than my taste. Huge thanks to Sapana, whose attentive, kind service made the meal even better. Namaste!

Delightful experience at Himalayan Cafe! The curry was very bright and creamy. Mild is not spicy, so if you want spicy get at least medium. The samosa chatt was filling and potatoey yet very light. The garlic naan was tasty, but could have been more garlicky in my opinion. Affordable place! Nice date spot.

My friend and I visited for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the staff was. Goku made sure everything was to our liking. The food was served hot, spicy, and quick (my favorite). We highly recommend the goat curry and Tikka masala as well as the cheese and garlic naan. If you try an appetizer like samosas, ask for their spicy red sauce–it is the best!
We will definitely be returning to Himalayan Cafe soon.
Much love,
Stephanie

Best chicken tikka appetizer I have ever eaten. Juiciest chicken with the perfect crunchiness of onions, peppers cooked with perfect combination of indian spices and garlic, topped with sauted garlic, cilantro. It was also customized to the spice level I requested ❤️ .
I could eat this Chicken Tikka every day .
Their chicken momos and sauted potato (from secret menu) appetizer is also something you should not miss.
This place is a hidden gem .

I ordered chicken briyani and it was the worst one that I ever had. Instead of making a real biryani they add all FROZEN vegetables to my CHICKEN biryani and threw some pieces of chicken in there. The rice were sticking to each other. No biryani flavor at all.
Upon seeing reviews now…I see only American people are praising this restaurant’s food bcz may be they actually don’t know how these Nepalese or Indian food should be. All the reviews I see from Indian people are BAD. If you want to try anything Indian, please don’t waste your money or time for this restaurant.
