Gyro was ok. They do give you a lot of meat but, it was just average. The fries were the big disappointment. We got the regular and the Greek with feta and lemon. Both orders were lukewarm, soggy and sad.

It is a fairly decent restaurant with a nice atmosphere that fits the Chicagoland area. Food was tasty and filling. Only complaints are that the fries were cold and I ordered to dine in but was served food in a bag which had my order of cheese for the fries separate, which isn’t what was wanted. Food options are plentiful, and the menu at the register is
easy to navigate. While there are better options, I do recommend giving this place a shot for lunch if you’re in the area.

Smelled the grill all the way from the parking lot of the Salvation Army as I was leaving and decided to stop in to see if I could grab a snack. Was happy to see that they have a mini gyros option that comes on a smaller pita as I had big dinner plans for later. The dining room was really clean and there is lots of seating available. I also liked some of the more unique menu options they had compared to other gyro/beef spots. The staff was very friendly with me and all of the other customers they interacted with. The 4 stars is only because the gyro wasn’t really as good as others in my opinion. Not sure how to explain it but the meat just seemed to be seasoned differently than what I am used to and look for in a gyro. I could see how others might actually prefer Skippy’s but it just didn’t do it for me. I’d probably stop in to Skippy’s again but would want to try other things.

Got the chicken gyro bowl with tomato onions, feta and tzatziki. The Taziki sauce was really good the chicken euro was a little dry but overall it was really good. Also got a small strawberry Italian ice that was amazing. I don’t know if you could sell it with vanilla ice cream on top it would be even better, but overall great experience//// came back to get the chicken gyro. That was tasty.

The place is just so overpriced for what you get.
Their fries are really good.
Their everything else is a complete ripoff.
I ordered a mini beef and a regular beef. The regular beef had almost the same exact amount of beef as the mini.
The maxwell polish is a tiny thing on a hotdog bun that costs 2x more than it should.
I’ve tried these places for years and I’m just tired of getting ripped off.
Their fries are their only redeeming factor.

$23 for a GD beef-sausage combo w/cheese and a small cheese fry is absolutely ridiculous. The food was OK at best, but to charge that much is insane. It’s no wonder why people will start eating out less and will start driving these businesses out of place. I didn’t even get a drink, so for me and my wife to have lunch, it would’ve cost $50!

Drive thru is always efficient. Staff is nice and friendly. Food is always super hot and tasty. Gyros are yummy and loaded with toppings.

Excellent food always, and better than Portillo’s in my opinion. The only thing missing from the menu is a spicy chicken sandwich. I hope Skippy’s adds it eventually, it would be awesome.

Food is disgusting. First I ordered no onion or tomato, and it came with onion. Not the biggest of deals. I picked them off. The meat was barely warm, tasted like it was a gyro kit from Walmart, and had an off taste. So terrible I couldn’t eat it. I got the Greek fries to go with it. Saturated in lemon juice, so much so they were soggy. Too sour to eat. The only thing that was satisfactory was the beverage dispenser. I got vanilla Dr Pepper and it was crisp and properly carbonated. The staff was nice and the atmosphere was comfortable. Just the most terrible gyro I’ve ever had.

Swung through the drive-thru to grab a quick lunch. Ordered a simple Gyro and Frie. I was asked to pull up to the window and pay. The employee was nice but seemed like he wasn’t too happy with his job. It took about 5 minutes to get my food. The food was hot and fresh and worth the wait. There was enough meat for 2 Gyros. It was a little messy to eat in the car, but was still delicious. Overall a very good place.
