I had such a great experience here tonight. The food tasted so good. I love that they sell seafood (shrimp) here. The prices seem reasonable for the amount of food I got.
The service was great as well. I had questions about the menu that the staff seemed eager to answer.
The ambiance seemed a little off, though. Plain walls without a lot of decorations…and the floor is just concrete. I felt like I was eating in a warehouse.
Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant.

We hit the three staff with a group of 30 for a team lunch. Pleasant. Quick. Food was great. We tried everything. My favorite was the carne asada taco. The fat corn tortilla used for al pastor tacos was unique. Others loved the fish taco and nachos.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS !! 10/10
Variety of salsa from mild to very hot.
If you don’t love hand made tortillas as the original recipe they are a bit thick. No worries they have Regular flour tortillas as for options.
Highly recommended
Great portion of meat on each taco
I come here once a week. My husband is American and he was very impressed lol ❤️

I do not know why this place doesn’t have people waiting lined up waiting for food. This place is one of the greatest taco/burrito places I have tried and I have tried so many in the SLC valley. This is a must try. The food is fresh and not dry at all. It was so good. The sauce they give compliments the food so well but honestly you could just eat the food as it is. Amazing. The location is easy to get to and very family friendly. The prices are such a good deal for the amount of food you get. I will be back! I will be telling all my friends about this place. I had the asada burrito and my husband had the al pastor burrito. We saw the people next to us get the super nachos and it was a good amount of food. I highly recommend. The bathrooms were clean as well. If you are looking for a new taco place this might just be it!!

This place has an awesome salsa bar. Their food is really good. I do wish they would have black beans instead of only pinto. That would be a game changer. Other than that though, it’s a great taco place. Priced well.

The food is outstanding. Probably the best tacos in the area. The homemade corn tortillas are delicious. I tried 3 of the tacos… shrimp, lobster, and carnitas. Not a single complaint. Very good food.

I would have given this place a higher rating but we had communication issues. One of our grandsons wanted a bean and cheese burrito. It’s not on the menu but they have the ingredients. Try as we did, we couldn’t communicate the request to the staff.

One other issue is that, although the salsa bar has a great selection and is also delicious, the sneeze guard wasn’t screwed on. It was simply hanging off the back of the bar with no protection over the food.

I ordered the Asada Super Nachos and a Chicken Burrito from Maize Tacos, and both were absolutely amazing! The portions were incredibly generous—definitely worth the money. The flavors were spot on, with fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked meats. On top of that, the place was clean, and the staff were friendly and professional. Everything about my experience was fantastic, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

The tacos were good enough but I’ve had better. This is one of those places that gets huge raves and then you try the food and you feel duped. I’ve had many tacos in my life so I know what an exquisite taco tastes like. And alot of people rave about the thicker taco shell….. but it has no flavor…. It’s just….. thick.

Also, I did give it a second shot because I wanted to make sure the first time maybe I was having ‘one of those days’. Obviously I wasn’t, the second time was also a no flavor taco shell. The meat was good, but so is any other taco place.

But, let me tell you, the first time I dined at this place, the cashier tried to overcharge me and played it off like she hit a wrong button. Okay. That’s fine. BUT, the second time I went today, a different cashier gave me change back and shorted me $5. A whole five dollars. So, two times where it seems like I’m getting ripped off at a business, I DO NOT go back.

Make sure if you dine here that you add up what you ordered, and check how much change they give you. And definitely check your credit or debit that’s charged.

Maize 2.5

I got the Pastor and the Carne Asada tacos, my wife got the Carne Asada Quesadilla.

Let’s start off with Maize’s competitive strategy, their maize (corn) tortillas.

If you enjoy tacos you know, just like bread makes or breaks a sandwich, a tortilla can make or break a taco. In this case it breaks it.

Tortilla – 1

Tacos are named for their contents, not their covering and with a tortilla this thick and overbearing the tortilla is all you can taste.

Pastor – 1
The Al Pastor (marinated pork) is usually minced with a bit of charred edges to give it texture and flavor. This was large chucks with too little flavor, especially with these tortillas.

Carne Asada – 4
Despite the tortilla, the carne asada was a win! Had the char and flavor of a great taco. They added quac which was excellent and added the creaminess of the avocado without over powering the meat with its own spices.

Carne Asada Quesadilla – 3
I’m controversial on this topic, cheese lovers will really like this quesadilla. The cheese is thick with a great flour tortilla. This is great for a cheese quesadilla but when I ask for a carne asada quesadilla I want the meat to shine. In this case the carne asada was enough to overcome the thick corn tortilla but not enough to combat the cheese of the quesadilla. The flour tortilla was great, but the ratio of cheese to meat was off

Hot sauce cart – 3.5
Nothing amazing here. I really like the flavor of the habanero chili and they did have an habanero hot sauce but it was heavily mixed with mayo which overpowered the habanero and diluted the heat. It was supposedly “hot” but was less spicy than Tabasco.

Atmosphere – 3
Service – 3
