I’ve tried several mochi donuts in the past, only to feel ho-hum about the texture and flavor. A friend sent over a dozen flavors as a care package while I was sick, and I discovered these are on another level.

It might have been the freshness. They were still warm to the touch upon delivery, and the texture was fantastic. Unlike the dense, greasy thick dough that I remembered from past tries, Mochinut’s desserts are chewy yet light and airy. They immediately made me think of the French crullers from Dunkin Donuts, my perennial guilty pleasure. A few flavors like the strawberry were a little sweeter than I would’ve liked, but those were rare. Most of them were surprisingly balanced, even with the icing and toppings. If you’re into not-so-sweet desserts, you can’t miss the black sesame and taro donuts.

The beverages are nicely packaged in a transparent soda-can bottle. There isn’t an option to customize amounts of ice, levels of sweetness, or milk types, but they managed to sent my order without ice or boba (my preferred method for boba teas I plan to enjoy later on in the day).

I can’t speak to the restaurant or service, but given how well these convinced me to change my mind about mochi donuts, I’ll have to make a return trip back.

Stopped by Mochinut in Fort Lee on a whim and it did not disappoint! The mochi donuts were fresh, chewy, and super flavorful—loved the ube and churro flavors especially. They’ve also got Korean-style corn dogs, which were surprisingly filling and crispy on the outside. The vibe inside is clean and cute, with quick service even during busy hours. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is parking can be a little tricky in the area. Still, definitely worth a visit if you’ve got a sweet tooth!

The donuts are absolutely delicious, and that’s why I keep wanting to come back. However, the person taking orders—who seems to be the owner—often feels a bit rushed, which makes the experience somewhat stressful.

Because of that, I sometimes feel pressured when visiting the shop. It would be really appreciated if customers could be given a little more time to look around and choose at a relaxed pace.

I fell in love with Mochinut when it was first introduced in the U.S. I love its taste and texture, a nice deviation from classical US donuts.

I frequently serve these donuts to my clients for catering events. And without exceptions, everyone love it.

I ordered 5 dozens of Mochinuts for a Bat Mitzvah event on Saturday 2/10/24. The lady who took the order fulfilled my order flawlessly; she accommodated no-nuts (allergy restrictions) donut order.

They run a nice operation here.

Awesome spot for authentic high quality mochi donuts and Korean corndogs!! You have to be a bit patient, but it’s well worth it. No seating so this place is take-out only.

Update: there is now seating

Brought this to a dinner party and it was a huge hit. We all tried one piece of the 12 donuts and they were all so good. I thought they were going to just be an artificial sugar bomb but they were all so good. You could really taste the layering of flavors in each one. Huge hit. The texture is donut outside with mochi inside but not so chewy. Great bubble tea. They also have some other sweet breads and stuff but most people were there for the donuts and bubble tea.

By far the best mochi doughnuts I’ve ever tasted – they were so soft and had amazing texture and tasted so delicious and fresh. Starting at the top was a dulce de leche which was so amazing that’s a definite must try. The other ones were nutella, churro, cookies oreo; strawberry pebbles & white raspberry chocolate. The box was very cute too and nicely presented. I can’t wait to go back (:
