Our name Rusty Taco comes from our founder, Rusty Fenton who was passionate about food and had a dream to open a neighborhood taco stand. That dream came true when our first restaurant opened in in in 2010 in Dallas, TX. we usually enjoy eating here, but tonight was a bad experience. we sat at the menu for at least 5 minutes with no response. we said hello multiple times. we finally pulled up to the window, and the person taking our order wasn’t super kind. when we got our food, it was disappointing. the steak was absolutely burned…like ground beef level crumble. we love their chips and queso and are sad tonight wasn’t a great visit!

So this is an update to a review I left about 4 weeks after this place opened. The first time I went I left them a two star review. I had no desire to return. The review I left was not good.
Two weeks ago I stopped into the gas station that’s connected. I decided to get two tacos as I was starving. I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed them. I then took my wife in a couple days later and she loved what she orders just as much. The tacos hit the spot and were so amazing.
That brings us to tonight. I have been fasting for 36 hours from a medical procedure I had. The thing I wanted the most was Rusty Tacos once I could eat. My wife and I drove from the west side of IF to Ammon for some tacos and again everything was so amazing. I feel so bad for the review I left a year or so ago but it seems like something changed and I want to make sure I do this place justice for where things currently stand. If you haven’t been to this place in a while, make sure to give them a second chance.

If you’re looking for a great taco in Idaho Falls, this is a good option. The location is very clean. The staff is quite nice and helpful if you need to know about the food. I was impressed with the taste. Who doesn’t like tacos?! My only gripe or slight dissatisfaction with this taco joint was the price. Holy smokes is it high. An average taco is around $4.00 each. Some are $5 and $6. I ordered a basic meal with 3 tacos and a coke; which came to $19. Most other Mexican restaurants are about 30-40% less. However, it is worth the visit to try it out.

My brother ordered this from door dash for us tonight after my sister inlaw said her friends commented that their birria tacos were the best they ever had… that was absolutely not the case tonight!! I only wanted one, they only sell them in 3 for $18!!!! they were so disgusting!! The consume was so thick and all I could taste was chili powder as well as picking hard chili shells out of my mouth every bite! The driver or staff also forgot my sister in laws shrimp baja bowl & chips and queso… so disappointed

Casual taco restaurant beside the gas station. It was clean and bright. It still has a new feeling. Picnic style tables and chairs with a handful of booths. Customers can help themselves to the Soda fountain and small refrigerator full of condiments.
We tried the brisket nachos, a chicken fajita taco, and a rusty taco. The food was prepared to order. It was really fresh and tasted good. I love that they give you fresh cut limes to squeeze over your dishes.
It was kind of expensive for street tacos, almost $4 a piece, but they were pretty good, so I didn’t mind it too much. The brisket nachos were also pricey, at $11, but we took a lot of the chips home for my son to snack on. So $20 really fed more than 2 people.

First time eating here and I’m impressed. The food was good but the service was amazing! The place was super clean. It was not too loud or too quiet. And I’m sooo full! It doesn’t look like a lot of food but it fills you up super fast. Super chill atmosphere.

My family loves going here. The nachos are some of the best. I love that it’s also attached to the gas station so you can go get a drink while you are there. They also have really good chicken strips and quesadillas for the kids.

Opened Jan 2023. Nice modern design, it is attached to the Good 2 Go Gas Station. The place is kind of expensive. Food quality is good, but I still think the local Takera El Rodeo has better Street Tacos. It is nice to see a food option come to the East Side of town near Thunder Ridge High School. Place offers Indoor & Outdoor dining areas. Has a drive thru as well.
