I can’t say enough good things about this place! From the food (props to Joey) to the karaoke it was a blast! Very friendly staff and patrons. We definitely plan on coming back…also the beef stew that the owner made, it brought me back to my childhood sitting at my Nana’s dinner table

This is an extremely quaint little spot nestled at the base of Scotchman Peak in a beautiful mountain hamlet. Saturday mornings seemed pretty busy for it’s small staff but we’ve got no complaints about the service. Coffee was hot, strong, and plentiful. Our meals were well portioned and reasonably priced. Well worth the stop.

About the only place open on a Sunday morning in Clark Fork. Inside was dark and dusky and smelled its age; a mixture of smoke (from when smoking was allowed indoors tears ago) and grease. Menu choices are very limited. Dont expect any fresh fruit opions or nice plating. This place is simple bar food. Biscuits were hard, but the breakfast burrito was decent. Outside seating feels like sitting in a dirt lot. Tables were close to street traffic and ashtrays on about every third table. Prices are reasonable and staff friendly.

First time visiting this cute place. The food was great! We got chicken fried steak with all the sides. Some fluffy pancakes and biscuits with gravy.
The chicken fried steak was delicious and very juicy! There ate people who can make great food!

We were hungry after a morning of canoeing and on a Sunday morning, this was the only option in Clark Fork (that we could see). Other reviewers had good things to say about the burgers, so we decided it was worth a shot. My companion had a bacon cheeseburger, his opinion was, “meh, its a burger” – nothing special. Not eating red meat, my options were a chicken finger basket or fish and chips. The fish and chips were pretty miserable – the two pieces of fish were formed flat, clearly intended to be part of a fish sandwich – and really dry. The basket was not served with cole slaw or even tartar sauce. I couldn’t make myself each the second piece of fish, it was so bad. We had to ask for ketchup and mustard for our fries and burger. The server never refilled our water. The server had to ask us what we had ordered in order to make up our tab (granted, she had not taken our order, but she did bring the food to the table). Five parties of 2-4 each all walked in within 15 minutes and this clearly overwhelmed the staff. To sum up: the service was terrible, the food was miserable to mediocre, and the only thing saving them from 1 star is that the fries were crispy and not soggy. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had asked for vinegar…

While I’m not a fan of bars..or bar food in general, I do enjoy the Philly Steak sandwich here! On Prime Rib nights, they’ve upgraded my Philly with prime rib and it’s 10/10! Be sure to ask for extra barbecue sauce!
Also, whenever Greg is cooking, I know the food is going to be excellent!
Thanks for being so awesome, Greg!

Ordered prime rib dinner paid the extra $5.00 to split it. Prime rib was quite good. Problem extras. Three little pieces of zucchini and aprox table spoon mashed potatoes. Menu stated BAKED POTATOES. I do not consider we got even one serving of vegetables or potatoes between both of us. $48.00 for that meal
was a rip off. Not even sure if we actually received 6 oz each of the prime rib. Will not return. Asked about the potatoes and was rudely told “they were having mashed potatoes tonight”. No other comment. And yes, I did tip…It was not the waitress but the male owner.

Oh, Cabinet Mountain Bar & Grill in Clark Fork, Idaho – what a gem of a dive that’s somehow still standing after that fiery little “renovation” back in 2015. You pull up to this rustic shack in the middle of nowhere, thinking you’re in for some hearty mountain grub, but nope, it’s more like a survival challenge for your taste buds and sanity. The menu promises burgers and prime rib, but what you get is a patty so overcooked it could double as a hockey puck, and fries that taste like they were deep-fried in disappointment. And let’s not forget the star of the show: that waitress with the bad attitude, who’s got a glare sharper than the Cabinet Mountains themselves. She slaps down your water like you’re the one who just insulted her family, and if you dare ask for a refill, she’ll sigh so loud it echoes off the pinball machines. Service? More like a slow-motion train wreck – prompt only if you count waiting 20 minutes for a beer as “efficient.” The atmosphere’s got all the charm of a forgotten truck stop, with bar games that probably haven’t been cleaned since the place reopened, and live music that’s just locals karaoke-ing off-key to drown out the complaints. If you’re into overpriced mediocrity served with a side of snark, this is your spot – otherwise, keep driving, because Clark Fork deserves better than this attitude-ridden relic.

Great Sports Bar with quality – inexpensive drinks as well as LARGE-GREAT PICTURE TVs.
A GREAT PLACE to watch a game & drink.
Would’ve given 5 Stars except for the fly problem.
My wife thought the fish & [chips] fries-NOT that good.
Fish to me looked like frozen minced supermarket “fish filets.”
We also had the Tater tots with chicken cheese & garlic-mushy mess but tasted OK.
I wished we would’ve ordered plain tater tots..
The Cheeseburger & fries were EXCELLENT-small portion though, BUT GREAT FOOD & DRINK PRICES.
I had a Grey Goose White Russian-excellant.
Overall impression:
Small kitchen & grill ONLY
Didn’t see a food prep. area.
If they got “food” busy we would’ve walked out..
Plastic cups for drinks & plastic food baskets.
CLEAN BATHROOMS.
2 Grey Goose White Russians, Cheeseburger with fries, fish & fries, 7up Tater tots with cheese garlic & chicken = $45
Biggest Turnoffs:
FLIES
Plastic drink cups & food baskets
