Great Tilapia, Blakeyed peas, cabbage, & cornbread! I do agree with the previous post about having lids to keep food covered but I totally disagee with the rest of his comments. I hope they stay busy & stick around. There can be a long line at lunch so make sure you have enough time on busy days.

I moved to the area 5 years ago, and have always supported this business. While they have been up and down with food quality and customer service, for the most part they’ve been decent. Until recently. The food is always old. As I’m typing this, the currently have old cabbage on their buffet that’s actually turning black. It’s unbelievable. You can tell that no one cares. The restaurant is dirty and gloomy. The floor is so sticky you can hear every step. The older lady in the short burgundy wig is extremely rude. She clearly does not care about this establishment or it’s customers. Honestly, she put the nail in the coffin. I understand that the food won’t be perfect everyday, but at least respect me enough to greet me. My family and I eat here at least 2 times a week, and sometimes more than once in a day. I have a husband and 3 children so you can imagine what I spend with them every week. You would think that the staff would be happy to have loyal customers like us, but that’s definitely not the impression I get. While I really hate to see this place decline like this, and I hate even more to pull my support, I have come to the realization that this place just isn’t what it used to be. I will take my business elsewhere because mediocre food is one thing, but poor customer service is a clear indication that you couldn’t care less about me as a longtime, loyal customer. I hope this business makes a comeback, but disrespecting your customers is not the way to do it. I know we all have bad days, but we have to be mature enough to push those feelings to the side and take care of our responsibilities. While you’re serving customers, customer service is your responsibility.

I’m trucker and wanted some sunday dinner. This establishment was around the corner and they was still open after 3pm. I got the Turkey wings dinner with dressing with collard greens and yams..along with my happy ending(dessert). Price was reasonable and service was fast. I didn’t experience anything bad that the previous reviews. I was greeted and there was young lady fix my plate. The decor is kinda gloomy and lighting needs to be upgraded. Will come again.

The food was truly home cooked taste. I got a dinner to go. The mac and cheese was good. The collards had no seasoning at all which is good if you have high blood pressure. Service was great. It was 1 and 1/2 hours before closing. I will go earlier next time I’m here.

Pleasantly surprised. I had meal here last night and didn’t quite know what to expect of a restaurant attached to a gas station but once inside just before closing time the friendly staff made me feel right at home. There is an expansive menu to choose from but, as we were late arrivals, this Tuesday night few items remained of main entrees.
The food was amazing. I had the smoked pork chops, I’m telling you, they rolled my socks up and down. I highly recommend this restaurant, I will go back for a second try, this time I’m starting with lunch and I’m gonna stay for dinner.

I was taken by Friends, but was not really hungry. I had Mac n Cheese, to go, and it was delicious. Everything behind the glass looked fantastic. My Friends got the Pork Chop dinner. They love it there. I will go back again. The only negative for me was an 88B. I’m sure it has nothing to do with Food, Cleanliness, or Service. Probably building repairs or something minor. I will be going back. Oxtails were very expensive. Given the rising price of Oxtails, I did understand. They were huge and covered in a brown gravy. $26 for 3 with 2 sides. Oxtails are very expensive. If you love them, like me, you will pay the price. You pay more than that at your steak houses.

This is by far the greatest real soul food restaurant I have visited in the Atlanta area! I had the catfish plate with cabbage, macaroni and cheese and a side of yams. Everything was seasoned to perfection with great flavor. This is my second visit and this will become my favorite place to dine now that I have found this location. I highly recommend this place to fulfilled the soul food cravings like you momma use to cook!

Food taste awful, not sure how long the food been sitting out, barely any food in the pans, and the cashier had an attitude, throwing people receipt on the counter. Then he said sorry, I was the third person in line, I been watching him handing receipt to the customer and it fell on the counter. But anyway, when I got my food, I got half way down interstate 675, I grab my plate to taste the food, because it’s my first time stopping by there, and the baked chicken was horrible, like it’s been sitting there for over 4 hours. I got off work at 4:35pm, got there around 5:16pm. I was disappointed, I threw my food away wasted $11.67 I could have went somewhere else and get something to eat. So do not go there. Cornbread so darn greasy, Mac & Cheese was hard…. probably the same Mac & Cheese since it opened up from earlier. Same pan. Disgusting!!!!

I went to this restaurant and ordered a 2 piece catfish dinner, 30 minutes later I asked, “Why is my order not ready?” The lady taking the orders went in the cooking area to ask about my order. She came back and apologized because they had given my order to another customer. They did make good on the mistake. However, the following week I went back to order (two) 2 piece catfish dinners but they put order in for one dinner instead of two. I said, “okay fine! Just refund me for the second order. Unfortunately, they would not refund my money for the other order, which made me have to wait 30+ more minutes for the other catfish dinner. They have lost a customer for as long as they are in business and will tell of my awful experience to anyone who will listen.
