Had a delightful lunch with a friend at this sweet place! While we didnt partake in the Turtle Carmel and Bavarian Cream Puffs they looked amazing. Others who had them said they were quite delicious! Iue lunch consisted of a Rice Bowl, and Root Beer BBQ Chicken Sandwich with a side salad that was fantastic!! The croutons were the best ever; made with their Cranberry Wild Rice Bread. The combination of slight sweet, tartness and crunch was perfect. The Dirty Chia was also seriously on point. The waitress was ultra attentive to us even there was a good amount of customers, impressed indeed!

Very lovely place, quite and inviting. I tried the Apple crisp French toast and it was absolutely out of this world!!! And I sided it with a hot snickerdoole chai latte.
Just off the Red cedar trail, so it would be a perfect stop before or after a trail adventure.
Too cold today for the trail but perhaps another time cause I definitely want to visit this restaurant again

New menu, same great service and atmosphere!! The new options on the menu are great. We had the biscuit sandwich, sweet crunch sandwich and French toast. Everything was cooked perfectly. Hot chocolate was great! Mint mocha latte was a little light on the mint but it was still good.

We purchased butter pecan donuts and a cinnamon roll, plus a loaf of cranberry wild rice sourdough to go also.

This place is one of our favorites, wish we lived closer ❤️

Just stumbled into Scatterbrain Cafe on a sunny November afternoon, and wow — what a find! This quirky little spot in a charming old building oozes character from the moment you walk in. Exposed beams, cozy vibes, and a “please seat yourself” chalkboard with a smile? Instant good mood.
The coffee is seriously good — rich, smooth, and clearly made with love. I had the Campfire Caramel (toasted marshmallow and caramel notes — pure cozy in a cup), and it was perfection. Grabbed a bag of their Steely Yeti Dark Roast to take home, and two days later, I’m still raving about it. Bold, smoky, and insanely fresh — way better than the grocery store stuff.
Now, the food — oh man. I went with a fluffy omelette loaded with spinach and herbs, served with crispy hashbrowns and a side of creamy herb sauce (ranch? aioli? whatever it was, I wanted to bathe in it). Simple, fresh, and executed flawlessly. Portions are generous without being overwhelming.
But the cinnamon rolls? TO. DIE. FOR. Warm, gooey, with a thick swirl of cinnamon and a mountain of cream cheese frosting — easily some of the best I’ve ever had. They’re displayed proudly in the case like little edible trophies. Pro tip: get one. Or three.
The menu is thoughtful — great brunch options, fun coffee specials (that Campfire Caramel is now my obsession), and even herbal teas and wellness blends for non-coffee folks. Prices are fair, service is friendly, and the whole place just feels right.
Scatterbrain Cafe isn’t just a cafe — it’s a vibe. A cozy, delicious, soul-warming vibe. If you’re local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. You can thank me later. ☕

Stopped here this morning simply because with a name like this how can you not!!

Was even better walking inside and instantly experiencing the small town cafe atmosphere.

Super friendly staff, seat yourself system but server came to greet us and get drink orders right away.

Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Some reviews mentioned slow service , but we were in and out in under an hour which I think is completely reasonable!

Will definitely be back!!

Only go here if you’re ready for all other food places to be ruined. If you’re looking for the most flavorful and well prepared food and coffee you’d be foolish to skip stopping here.

Really enjoyed coming here and all the food I tried. Pictured you will see the Pickle Pepper Grilled Cheese and loaded smashed potato. Also tried the house scrambler with chipotle hash browns and a cinnamon roll. All excellent!

This place must have been a bank at one time because the old safe has been turned into a book nook. Have seen this concept before but can’t go wrong when it’s done this well

I love this little “safe” area for the kids to play. Very rarely can I find a coffee shop where I can actually relax and let my kid play while I smash and drink my iced breve. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I don’t give 5 stars unless deserved, and this small café was by far 10/10. I got a dill pickle grill cheese and cabbage soup and man, if you haven’t tried then your missing out, especially my fellow pickle people!! Take time and go here! you won’t be disappointed!

The service was great, but the drinks were awful. The mocha we ordered was poorly filtered and filled with coffee grinds. The food was okay at best and wasn’t worth how it was priced. It seemed like a nice place to have tea and work on homework and that’s about it. We spent $42.

EDIT: Thank you to the owners for offering the refund, but it is not necessary. To answer your question: the drinks made it hard to enjoy the meal at all, so that could have been a factor.
