I placed a pizza order over the phone and arrived at approximately 8:30 PM just before the pizza finished baking. The restaurant’s posted closing time is 9:00 PM, so I believed arriving 30 minutes prior would allow sufficient time to eat and leave before closing. When I entered, the employee informed me that they would be closing soon. I acknowledged this and explained that I was hoping to eat there quickly and leave before 9:00 PM. However, I was not given the option to dine in. Instead, the employee immediately boxed the pizza for takeout without asking if I preferred to eat there.
I also grabbed a canned beer from the cooler. Later, as I was leaving, I noticed the menu listed beers in the $5–$6 range. However, I was charged $8, and the receipt showed a different beer name than the one I had actually taken. This raised concerns that I may have been overcharged.
Since the pizza had already been boxed, I sat down and had a slice from the box inside the restaurant. While I was eating, the employee locked the entrance door—presumably to prevent additional customers from entering—and then stepped away from the front area. When I finished and attempted to leave, I discovered the door was locked and I was unable to exit. This occurred before 9:00 PM, the restaurant’s posted closing time.
To be fair, the pizza itself tasted decent, although it was slightly burnt. I would likely consider returning in the future if it weren’t for this type of experience and service. Unfortunately, between not being given the option to dine in despite arriving well before closing, the potential overcharge on the beer, and being locked inside while the employee was not present, the overall experience was negative.
I do really miss the old Canadian bacon though. It was the best I had ever had. So meaty, succulent, and smokey. Any chance you can get that back?
We called ahead and ordered pizzas about 20 minutes before arriving and let them know we’d be there shortly. When we arrived around 8:30 PM and went to the cashier, we asked if we could get a tap beer. The waiter immediately told us they would be closing in 15 minutes, even though Google and Yelp both say they close at 9:00 PM.
We weren’t planning to stay long—we just wanted to have a slice or two while the pizzas were fresh and hot. We actually left before 9:00 PM, but the staff still gave us unwelcoming looks the whole time, as if they didn’t want us there at all.
On top of that, the pizzas were burnt.
Overall, very poor service and a very uncomfortable experience. I would not recommend this place.
