We visited Albuquerque for Christmas and discovered Roma Bakery and Deli.
Went Christmas Eve morning to pick up some sweets for Christmas Day.
OMG!!! I can’t stop thinking about the apple empanadas. The pastry dough was light, slightly sweet and DELICIOUS – the BEST I have ever tried! Oscar is the baker and I WISH we could take him home with us!
We also ordered a breakfast burrito that was huge (we split it Christmas morning) and a chicken salad. Both dishes were fabulous!!
The owner is warm and friendly and made the experience one to remember.
If you are in Albuquerque, you must must must go to this bakery, and enjoy their friendliness and delicious food!

Very nice owner and chef. First time trying Roma Bakery & Deli. I never park downtown and he walked out to the street found me in my car and helped me find parking. So genuinely generous!! Who does that nowadays?
The FOOD delicious tasted like homemade. I felt like I was invited into his home and treated like family. I enjoyed the carne adovada burrito. Very hearty with yummy red chile flavor. I also took some scrumptious cookies home. This smile wont leave my face. What a perfect way to end the year and start 2026 with a new favorite breakfast spot and new friend too!

I go to Roma Bakery about once a week. Most of their clients are reoccurring customers from the nearby residential community, downtown workers, and law enforcement officials. The food and sweets are amazing with a decent variety. Whether it’s for takeout or dine in, it’s always a great experience. Oscar is very friendly and makes you feel welcomed. I’m particular when it comes to coffee and theirs is one of the best. You gotta try this place at least once. There is free street parking a couple of blocks away and paid street parking along Roma (not an issue for me as I walk there).

This is a fun little place very close to courthouses and governmental offices. It has Spanish food and wonderful deli sandwiches and bakery treats. The bakery items are Mexican in taste and focus. They include empanadas and large sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies and other basic treats. I had a wonderful Italian sandwich with very crusty chewy bread. The prices are a little high, but the ingredients are very good. You can sit and talk for a long time. You order at the counter, and the staff is very cheerful and welcoming. They also make special soups a couple of days of the week. I had a sample of their tomato soup, and it was delicious.

This was my first time visiting, and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly and asked what I’d like to order. They had an amazing special— a burrito and coffee for about $9— which was a great deal. I also got a pastry, and it was absolutely delicious!
The burrito was a good size (I used a K-cup for reference) and packed with flavor. I ordered the red chile and carne adobada breakfast burrito, and it did not disappoint. The red chile was perfection—just the right balance of spice and richness. The food tasted incredibly authentic and homemade, just like something you’d get from a family kitchen.
I will definitely be returning!

My friend and I met here today for lunch. I got a spinach salad, chicken salad, and a cookie. My friend ordered a sandwich. Everything was so great! We lost track of time. I looked up and the employees were clearing things…. we realized they had closed while we were chatting away. Everyone was so nice and didn’t rush us at all! My friend asked if she could still purchase a few pastries and Oscar was more than happy to help. Great local spot!

Visited due to reviews. It definitely is a cute place with friendly staff. However, I was baffled by their choice of bread for the sandwich. It was French type bread with a super hard outer crust that made it very challenging to eat. I was afraid the filling on my front tooth was going to be knocked off. I was glad I only got the half sandwich at that point.

My wife and I stopped by the Roma Bakery based on the overwhelming reviews on Google. We generally feel the same. I had a bear claw pastry and a banana nut muffin. The bear claw was delicious and the muffin was good. My wife had a chocolate chip cookie which was the star of the visit. I tasted it and totally agreed with her. Her second cookie, a sugar cookie with sprinkles would be great for kids.
Good, solid bakery. They also have breakfast sandwiches but we did not try them.
