I don’t live in Buena Park anymore, but I used to live across the street from this place and it was my absolute favorite place to go in the morning and get breakfast for everyone in the house. I would come back with a dozen donuts, for me and my husband, we would get the everything bagel toasted with avocado and bacon on both sides. I miss this place and when I’m back in Orange county it’s going to be one of the first places I go because it’s that good! The service is great, the people are nice, the prices are good for what you get, they are always open except for like an hour or two at the wee hours of the night, and when it’s not crowded, it’s nice to just sit down and get that bagel with a drink to eat inside. Not when it’s hot outside though! That’s when I would run back across the street into my AC, lol! I put four for atmosphere only because sometimes it does get crowded, it is a smaller building, there are only two small tables, but for what they have they are definitely working with it. It’s not their fault that their building is small on the inside, especially when they have other businesses to the left and right of them. Sometimes they have specialty donuts as well! And do yourself a favor because they are only a few cents – TRY THE POWDERED DONUT HOLES AT THE COUNTER IF THEY ARE STILL THERE! It’s like biting into a little slice of heaven. And you can get quite a few of them because they are very cheap. And try that bagel too if you’re into avocado toast, bacon, bagels, guacamole…yeah it’s for you! And if you get boba tea they are very generous with the pearls! There are very few places in Orange county as a whole that I have found myself yearning to go back to and miss with my whole heart, this place is definitely one of them, it makes me miss living across the street.

Surcharge on debit cards is illegal, even if they run it as credit. But this business does it anyway. Reference the Durbin Ammendment which prohibits banks from charging businesses for debit transactions. Which also means the business cannot charge you for that. Federal Law prohibits charging for the use of debit cards. So in short, if a business charges you for using your debit card, they are pocketing that surcharge.

This is a typical donut shop with primarily basic donuts and a handful of specialty donuts like blueberry, red velvet, and some holiday-themed ones occasionally. They also offer sandwich for breakfast and lunch with some specialty drinks. Over all, they’re good, basic donuts, sandwiches, and drinks at a reasonable price. My favorite thing to get is the ham and cheese croissant even though I wish they would add just a little bit more ham to it.
The staff is friendly and the place is clean. It’s good enough for what it is.

The best part of Modoo is it is one of the few local places, outside of Walmart, that is open 24/7. It is best visited in the early morning hours, like most donut places.
The breakfast crescent, with sausage, egg, jalapenos and cheese is delicious! After all, the crescent makes for a great deal of the experience.
They also have a broad range of different coffees, with all the fixings you need to customize it, and than some!
So it’s a good place for a very early morning or late night meetup, as they have a nice flat screen TV and Kiis FM playing in the background, to give you a little privacy. It’s also well lit.
During the afternoon most of the people stopping in, are to buy Lotto pics, so quick in and outs, with a very low selection of donuts, no TV, and a much different feel to it.
If you like your Apple fritters flat and crisp, and particularly candy sweet, than this is the place for you. Even if not your preference, mine being the thicker, less carmelized, apple filled variety, you’ll still appreciate the quality and find a wide variety of other offerings matching your preference, if you go in the early morning.

Really enjoy the conversations I have when picking up my donuts. I don’t go here as often as I like because I’m trying to lose weight but when I want a treat it’s perfect for a half dozen or so donuts. After 7pm you get a discount. These bakers work around the clock to make sure your donuts are fresh and ready for consumption. Great local donut shop that’s not a chain franchise. Support your local restaurants if you can.

I discovered this place by chance & was blown away! The turkey avocado on baguette is incredible—definitely a must-try. Their original donut bear claws are delicious & generously sized. The space is clean, the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. Love supporting a great family-owned business!
