I ordered an asada torta for lunch today because I was starving, but when I opened the box and took off the bun, I couldn’t believe how little meat there was — maybe a couple ounces at most. It was basically all bread with barely any carne asada. The taste matched the look — mostly bread, no real asada flavor, and to top it off, no avocado? Come on guys, you’ve got to do better.
This is my second time trying their food, and both times they’ve been way too stingy with the meat. I’ll give them one more shot, but hopefully they see this and take note — the photos speak for themselves.

My wife tried this spot first and raved about some of the best chilaquiles around here. So we went together for breakfast. It’s a small space and limited menu but you can tell they focus on perfecting their craft to make each item taste amazing over having an extensive menu full of hit or miss options.
My wife and I each had chilaquiles, hers green sauce, mine red. We also ordered a Brisket Quesabirria, torta, and quesadilla to take home for later.
For everything we got the price wasn’t too bad at all.
They have a wide variety of hot sauces to enjoy, the pineapple one is my favorite.
I also ordered one of their seasonal agua frescas, which ended up being Guyabano, a flavor which I had never tried before, and was so pleasantly surprised by that we ordered another one to go before we left.
The place again is small, but there was still ample outdoor seating for us to sit and enjoy our food in peace. We noticed most people were just ordering their food to go.
This spot is a hidden gem worth checking out, and we will definitely be coming back for more!

I’ve been trying to get back to this spot as I’m not from the area. First time I had a Birria Torta (10/10), today a steak super burrito (10/10). The sauces are gourmet. Definitely coming back next time I’m driving through. Thank you Don Chai!!

This place is probably one of the best taco joints in the East Bay. They have a taco Tuesday deal where you can get one taco for $2.50. I tried their birria and asada tacos, and both were incredibly delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. I definitely plan to return if I’m in the area again.

Landed here completely by accident. It’s a small little spot that looked colorful and fun from the outside, so we stopped… and I’m so glad we did! These young gentlemen are dishing out some kind of magic, and for the price point? Major win.

This is such a great spot in Martinez and I feel like not a lot of people know about it!
They have amazing breakfast burritos along with their lunch menu as well, which everything is amazing especially their pizza!
All the side salsa are amazing and made in house, but my favorite is the piña and the Verde salsa!
The service in there is always fast and they’re super friendly and welcoming

Best Birra in town! Everything is made with love and fresh. It’s absolutely delicious. The joyful and almost beach like atmosphere blends so well with the beautiful sauces and fresh made pico de gallo. I am addicted. Dog friendly with cute patio. Don’t let the industrial neighborhood scare you away. You have to eat here so good!

Tacos Don Chai is my favorite Mexican food spot to go to. The tacos and burritos are the best I’ve had. Carne asada and chicken both very flavorful. The pineapple salsa is one of a kind, I’ve never been to another restaurant with salsa that tastes anything like it. The service is always excellent and I never wait long for my food. Shoutout to John for the exceptional service he always provides my family and I when we come in. If you are in the area it is a must visit, especially if you are in the mood for Mexican food !!

Killer tacos, everything was wonderful, pineapple salsa and lime cucumber drink were fresh and refreshing. The staff were friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere, cute indoors and courtyard surrounded in cacti and succulents. Originally discovered this place through their food truck so glad to know they have a brick and mortar I can frequent. Going back to try the breakfast burrito next!!!
