I have eaten at this wonderful restaurant several times with my cousin over the past year & it is always delicious . That being said, on Saturday it was a different experience. Dining at the Dancing Crab for lunch this day was very disappointing, to say the least. I took my son and his fiancé to lunch here because they have been wanting to try it and they were in town for the weekend . I had looked at the menu before arriving there and they had lunch specials online. When we got to the restaurant we were given dinner menus. & To my surprise we were charged dinner prices for lunch. I was quite shocked when the bill for the three of us came to $70. (three entrées, all with tofu) and two nonalcoholic iced teas- see photo of receipt) I called after we got back home to get clarification, and here there is no lunch menu or pricing for “dine in.” -it is the dinner menu. Also, portions have gotten much smaller, they are TINY, and that was the case today as well. Just very disappointing on both issues. This somewhat deceptive to have lunch specials for takeout but not for dine in & is a good way to get rid of loyal customers. I just don’t know if we will return. What we ordered was not worth $70. In addition, my Massaman curry the vegetables were not cooked and they were in huge chunks.

The food was a bit expensive for what you get – especially compared to similar restaurants in the area. It was all very good except for the duck, which wasn’t even close to warm. The spicy level was a little lower than we expected compared to other places, but that could have just been the cook we had that day.
We got lucky with parking, but there’s a lot nearby, so it’s not really an issue if you don’t find parking on the street easily.
Service was decent, tho nothing special.
I like what they did with the decor. Has someone not mentioned what restaurant it has been before, I wouldn’t have even realized it. They did a great job remodeling and have some beautiful artwork on the walls. I love the way the booths are separated from each other, too. It’s not very close to us, but if my folks (who love much closer to it) want to go there again, we would.

One of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever tried. The first one is located in Chicago, but this one definitely comes in second place. It has a very pleasant atmosphere, top-notch service, and the best part is the quality of the food. I highly recommend coming here to try their food and experience their amazing customer service.
This dish was chosen by the waitress, and honestly, she couldn’t have picked a better option, fresh seafood.

One of the few locations in Pittsburgh to enjoy good Thai food. Would recommend to try the Drunken noodles(Shrimp), Red curry, spicy basil friend rice and dancing shrimp.
P.S. they add mandatory 18% service charge to your bill.

Interesting experience at this place. We’ve been looking for great Thai food in the South of Pittsburgh, and unfortunately, we will continue to be searching for it because this was not it. Not that this place is bad. It’s just average. And, there were several missteps on the part of the restaurant that were just odd.
We were a group of six and ordered appetizers and entrees which we shared. The Appetizers came out one at a time with significant gaps in time between them. Same thing happened with our entrees so that we finished some of the dishes before everything was delivered. I believe this was a pacing problem in the kitchen as we saw the two waiters delivering food to other tables while we were waiting for ours.
As to the food itself. It was OK. Nothing was bad, but nothing was extraordinarily good either. We had different spice level desires and we noted inconsistencies there. A dish that was supposed to be at spice level 5 was significantly hotter than the one that was supposed to be a 7. The Curries were OK, but again, not too special.
The staff was helpful and “Tom” tried to make the experience more interesting by cracking jokes constantly. We were amused by his antics and enjoyed them. Others may not.
So, overall, a pretty average experience.

Excellent food! Good service! Great ambiance!
I ordered the seven wonders drink; didn’t know thai tea could pair so well with vodka. Their special dish of the day, Khao soy with braised short ribs, exceeded expectations. The rich flavors within the meat complemented the creaminess of the soup. The pad thai was authentic. Crispy Pork belly was very well seasoned, and spice level 9 was perfect for me (I love spicy!). Customer service was great; though one of the servers kept bringing the wrong food to our table. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would visit again.

A nice and popular Thai spot in Pittsburgh. The food is definitely high quality and quite flavorful. They have some very cool (but also a tad expensive) specials, but I stuck to ordering what I like. I tried the pad see ew with tofu and the Thai spring rolls.
The pad see ew with tofu was pretty good. They give you a good portion for a very reasonable price. It is quite heavy on the noodles (not as much vegetables, tofu, or egg). The noodles were cooked really well and the sauce was delicious, but I do wish they had vegetables other than just broccoli.
The spring rolls were pretty good, too. They again give a great portion. However, there’s nothing too special about them. A nice, flavorful sauce on the side, and crispy rolls (they weren’t stuffed with much though). Decently good.
All in all, a very solid Thai spot. I’d perhaps come back to try some of the specials, and the items I had were reasonably good.

We got the dancing shrimp, red duck curry, and squid drunken noodles. The curry was so creamy and delicious and all of the food was decently spicy despite being a 7/10, which is relieving since most places rarely use enough spice. They also have a great cocktail list with a spicy margarita. Highly recommend!

Hanah was my bartender and server. Her recommendation of Pineapple fried rice with chicken and beef was exquisite. She followed that up with a Bulliet Manhattan that was extraordinary and paired perfectly with my dinner. Everyone looking for great food, drinks and atmosphere should stop at Dancing Crab in Dormont on Monday evenings.
