I’ve been going here for the past 20 years. The food was good before the pandemic. During the pandemic, they put up a curtain so you can’t see the kitchen behind the counter which is one thing I really liked about the place, an open kitchen view. I started to wonder what they were hiding but I still went there because I thought it was better than most chinese restaurants in the area. The shrimp egg rolls were a little suspect because the shrimp tasted old so I stopped ordering them but I liked the shrimp egg foo yung. Today I entered the carryout and went through the ridiculous process of opening the outside door and waiting for it to close before opening the inner door. They actually have a sign with those exact instructions. Anyway, as soon as I placed my order and handed over my debit card, I heard someone in the kitchen literally hawking phlegm from their throat. Not once but twice. It was DISGUSTING. I said to the cashier, “that’s nasty”. She smiled, appeared embarassed and replied “I know. I’m sorry”. Needless to say, I cancelled my order and got a refund. If they are hawking in the kitchen, what else is happening behind that curtain???? Never again will I go to this place. They lost a patron of 20 years today. Good luck to anyone who gets food from this unsanitary establishment. You know it’s hard to distinguish what’s in chinese food. Beware.

I’ve been a long time customer until recently! Once upon a time this place had the best Cantonese food that I could find in the DMV and now both the food and service have gone down hill fast! It’s seem the owner fired a lot of the veteran cooks and front line workers and now the new staff is a complete disaster! A couple of my recent orders, the chicken was not cooked fully done and they neglected to include steamed rice all the while their prices have steadily increased! It’s sad to see what happened to this place as this was my go-to spot for over 10 years! Save yourself the disappointment!

I placed an order for shrimp lomein, got a ride up to the store picked my food up and got back home and find a rubber band in my food. Called back to inform them and the man basically said he couldn’t refund me my money until I brought him the food back. Sir I’m not paying to come back up there or hold on to it until I can, when you can just refund my card and move on. Will never eat here again and I hope whoever reads this wouldn’t either.

The entree dishes are good, however the Quality of food has gone down hill, and the price points have gone up hill, and the restaurant has cut corners to make more $, my last order was for a couple of dinners, and we were charge extra for sauces, mustard etc, we are no longer a customer at China 1.

Good food just need to cook it the way I like. So to update. I tried 3 times to order from them and they couldn’t get it right so the last time I told them I didn’t want it because it was just wrong the lady took my money called the police and wouldn’t give it back. She later called me and refunded me because she kept the food and my money. Awful place.

I ordered some beef Szechuan and it was completely flavorless. I tried to take it back and they wanted to take off money because I didn’t bring the rice back and some of the vegetables were gone. I’m over the new cook and I’m not the only person to have a complaint because someone else that works in that shopping center had the same complaint. they’re going to tell me that the brown sauce is premade when it shipped to the store they need a new supplier.. which explains why the brown sauce taste different

This place has tremendously gone down and it is obvious that they are taking their customers for granted. The food is not always fresh, refried, or not hot when delivered and they are rude when you bring it to their attention, especially the owners son. My money is valuable and we will NOT spend another dime here, some business need to be shown.

Please do not support this carry out. I attempted to return an order that was not correct and they refused to refund my money. The only thing they were willing to do was add sauce to the food I was returning (that in itself is gross and I’m pretty sure not an approved food service procedure). He was also speaking to me in tone that I did not appreciate and when I asked him to lower his voice, everyone did not need to hear our conversation he got louder. I do not mind spending my money but I refuse to spend a dime with an establishment that does not respect me as a customer.

Great hot and sour soup. Very large and generous portions. I’m 6’6 and am left with tons of leftovers which I love. Chicken sticks, general tso, are great.
Chicken dishes in the online menu don’t specify if they come as crispy(breaded) chicken or not. Which has been frustrating. I’ve noticed the chef specials chicken dishes come as breaded while many in poultry section do not
