Social Profile:

Olivine is our oceanfront culinary destination where the natural bounty of Maui is perfectly paired with the art of coastal Italian cuisine. Named for the green mineral that produces the gemstone known as the “Hawaiian diamond,” Olivine’s rustic open-air interior incorporates the striking hues of this mineral, inviting diners to gather both day and night in an al fresco setting framed by large open windows with sweeping ocean views. The menu spotlights locally-grown produce and herbs grown on site along with freshly made pastas, handmade for the ultimate Italian dining experience. On Thursdays, indulge in an exquisite evening for a special Vino Flights & Bites happy hour featuring a wine tasting paired with gourmet small plates.

Private poolside cabanas are optional at this open-air Californian spot at the Grand Wailea Hotel.

Went to Olivine for lunch during our stay at the Grand Wailea. Easily accessible from the resort grounds or the beachfront walkway. Handicap accessible through a ramp at the entrance. We were seated immediately (had a reservation though), but it wasn’t very busy at noon. Nice, stylish atmosphere, warm colors in an airy space. Great views of the pool area and the ocean front. Beautiful. Welcoming, attentive and friendly waitress took our orders, dishes were served quickly at a perfect pace. Food was nicely plated, very tasty. Very good quality overall, but not at an exceptional level. Only disappointment was the limoncello dessert with dragon fruit jelly, bland taste, almost no lemon flavor and too sweet, hence only 4 star rating. Resort prices unsurprisingly, but well priced in general. The daily resort F&B credit can be used here. Recommended, would definitely return!
Tip: the bill is coded as Grand Wailea Resort, choose wisely which credit card to use. Double tip by making a reservation via Open Table.

The Food:
I stopped in for a quick bite specifically to try the Crab Pizza. It was excellent—you can tell they use a proper high-heat oven (likely wood-fired or brick), giving the crust a great texture and taste.
The Experience:
Seating: We didn’t have a reservation, but we were able to walk in without an issue.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has a really nice vibe, relaxing and open. Best of all, we enjoyed a good view toward the ocean while we ate.
Verdict:
Great food, great view, and easy access. Perfect for a casual meal in Wailea.

Had a great lunch here while we waited for our room. The spaghetti with the meatballs added were so good. Not pictured was the sausage pizza – amazing with really good crust. Thank you to April for taking care of us, she was awesome.

Very surprised here. Did not think I would have like this as much as I did. We got the grilled Italian salad, meatballs in pineapple marinara, spaghetti. All of it was delicious. The salad surprised me with how good it was. Meatballs were flat out delicious and the pasta actually tasted like home made noodles. Our server knew everything about the menu and her descriptions were dead on. 2 favs from me were the salad and the pineapple marinara. Everything is expensive on Maui.

Just had a great lunch at Olivine restaurant overlooking the ocean. It is at the Grand Wailea Hotel in Wailea, Maui. I had a really good mahi mahi sandwich and a great starter of pizza bread ( sooo good). A good price point for some great lunch ( just after leaving the beach). Lunch price included two people.

Really incredible experience! This place has just been fantastic. We came here for lunch and it was so good we came back to try the dinner menu. Probably the best beet salad I’ve ever had. The squash blossom appetizer was out of this world. We tried several pizzas and they were fantastic. The Wago Bolognese was fantastic as well. Can’t recommend enough.

Stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and ate here 4 different times; it’s the one central place where you can get a good drink, a solid food menu (whether you want a snack or a full meal) and just really good service. Domingo , Stephanie , Gerald, Rex, all different personalities but truly stand out service.

My wife is vegan & there were plenty of options for her. Also, the pesto mushroom pizza was just superb. Highly recommend.

I love the food in this casual looking upscale restaurant.
We were a little late for our reservation but the hostess sat us immediately. Our server was attentive and made good recommendations.
The drinks were cold and refreshing. The hamachi crudo and crispy squash blossoms were good starters. The rosemary bread was just ok. The star of the meal were the black truffle mafalda and the gnocchi with lobster. The plates were huge and we ate only half of food.
This is a nice place to visit when in Maui. Come hungry!

We got the pizza to go and brought it back to our room — it was delicious! I have a seafood allergy, so the lobster made me feel a little sick, but that was totally on me, not the pizza.
