Olivine is our oceanfront culinary destination where the natural bounty of Maui is perfectly paired with the art of coastal Italian cuisine. Named for the green mineral that produces the gemstone known as the “Hawaiian diamond,” Olivine’s rustic open-air interior incorporates the striking hues of this mineral, inviting diners to gather both day and night in an al fresco setting framed by large open windows with sweeping ocean views. The menu spotlights locally-grown produce and herbs grown on site along with freshly made pastas, handmade for the ultimate Italian dining experience. On Thursdays, indulge in an exquisite evening for a special Vino Flights & Bites happy hour featuring a wine tasting paired with gourmet small plates.
Private poolside cabanas are optional at this open-air Californian spot at the Grand Wailea Hotel.

Reviews
Tip: the bill is coded as Grand Wailea Resort, choose wisely which credit card to use. Double tip by making a reservation via Open Table.
I stopped in for a quick bite specifically to try the Crab Pizza. It was excellent—you can tell they use a proper high-heat oven (likely wood-fired or brick), giving the crust a great texture and taste.
The Experience:
Seating: We didn’t have a reservation, but we were able to walk in without an issue.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has a really nice vibe, relaxing and open. Best of all, we enjoyed a good view toward the ocean while we ate.
Verdict:
Great food, great view, and easy access. Perfect for a casual meal in Wailea.
My wife is vegan & there were plenty of options for her. Also, the pesto mushroom pizza was just superb. Highly recommend.
We were a little late for our reservation but the hostess sat us immediately. Our server was attentive and made good recommendations.
The drinks were cold and refreshing. The hamachi crudo and crispy squash blossoms were good starters. The rosemary bread was just ok. The star of the meal were the black truffle mafalda and the gnocchi with lobster. The plates were huge and we ate only half of food.
This is a nice place to visit when in Maui. Come hungry!
