Always order one of the specials of the day, the menu is spectacular of course, but every time one of us orders the special, the rest of the table regrets not doing so. This place will make any occasion, even if it’s just a random Friday. Wholeheartedly recommend it.

Been thinking about visiting this restaurant for a long time!
Finally made it and it was much better than expected!
The atmosphere is very clean and classy. The waiters are properly trained (much more aligned to an international scale of fine dining services). You see them doing a lot of cleaning and setup before customers arrive and when the customers are done with their dishes. Keeping the table clean and emptying plates out of site at all times!
The foods are better than expected (and most likely the cooking skills of the chefs are above average for the Costa Rican fine dining market).
The price for the dishes with these services and cooking skills are worth it! You usually don’t get both in Costa Rica.
It was an absolutely pleasant experience to visit with family and friends!

We were a group of 17 women who had called ahead for reservations. The staff was prepared, the service was excellent, the meal delicious, and you cannot top the nighttime city lights view! A special mention to Berney, our server, who seemed to read our minds! He was attentive and prompt, and so kind. Highly suggest this for a special occasion as the atmosphere is top notch.

One of the most beautiful settings I have ever eaten in. The food was all better than good! Would I pay with my own money? Yes, especially for a date.
The views over the city at night are breath taking – think Bosch like views of San Francisco. There is a tree growing in the middle of the restaurant in a courtyard, you effectively sit near the roots / base of the trunk.
The staff were also kind enough to show us around the chapel that’s been left behind after the monks left the place.

Arrived and had reserved a window seat. They sat us then the manager came and moved us away. The place was empty. An update, we drove over to Fogo and were sat immediately. See photo.

I went to La Cava Alta Fiori to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night. I’ve had people tell me great things about this place for years, yet for some reason when I checked on TripAdvisor (as many do) the place wasn’t really rated very high. What I can tell you about that is… this place should be rated WAY higher. The food is great. I highly recommend getting the tartar de chorizo, any of the beef cuts, and probably any of the desserts (had 2, they were great!). The place is cozy (not too big, not too small) and the view… is breathtaking. Perfect place for a romantic date or just sharing with a special someone.
