We’ve always enjoyed coming to **Shor Restaurant** at the **Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa**, especially on weekends. It’s one of our favorite places to visit once in a while. The ocean view is beautiful, and their waffles with mixed berry syrup are absolutely delicious — definitely something we look forward to every time.
Today’s experience, however, was a little different from what we’re used to. Our server was an older lady who seemed okay at first, but after bringing our coffee, she didn’t check back on us. We didn’t have brown sugar on the table, so I had to look for her to ask for some. She said okay, but never brought it, and I ended up getting sugar from another table myself.
My toddler was never offered water, and no one checked in about drinks for her. When I asked the bartender for water, I was told to go ask our server instead, which was a bit disappointing.
We also checked in as kamaʻāina for the 20% discount, but the bill came out at full price. When I asked our server about it, instead of saying she would check, she told me I should have told the hostess when we checked in. (Our hostess, by the way, was very nice, pleasant, and polite.)
This visit felt very different from our past experiences, where everyone was kind and welcoming and truly showed local hospitality. We’ll still remember the amazing ocean view and those yummy waffles, but we hope the service can return to the warm and attentive level we’ve experienced here before.

We were staying in the hotel and needed breakfast very early because of an early tour, so we chose Shor for their breakfast buffet because of their convenient location and they open early. The food was all so delicious (especially the bacon, they cook bacon right). The service was very attentive and friendly. The view was a welcoming start for the day, and the buffet filled us up for a full day of exploring the island.

I wasn’t too sure after reading some of the reviews, but I had to try for myself. I had fish of the day twice, once with the mahi and then the snapper. The plates did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the lemon sauce was good. The lobster tail was also great. Had the gelato and the taro cheesecake, nothing to brag about, but it was good. The drinks were not as strong. The pineapple pie was my favorite dessert. Ryan was great.

We had the breakfast at Shor restaurant included in our Costco vacation rental package. The food quality was great and the service was wonderful. They had cold and hot food items included in the breakfast buffet. There was no check for us so the only option was to leave a cash tip.

First visit to Shor restaurant in the Hyatt Regency hotel on Waikiki beach, which overall was an excellent experience. We chose the restaurant specifically for the location and the view for the Waikiki sunset. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of the Hyatt, and using Open Table, we requested a balcony table which was honored through out reservation.
We expected the great views, but also received excellent service and food. The front desk was efficient and friendly, and were shown to our balcony table right on time. Table service followed by a super friendly server, who watched over us the entire meal. We found all of our appetizers and entrees very good, served timely and hot as appropriate. As expected for Waikiki the pricing is high, but at least service and food were well done throughout the meal.
We would consider returning again, but only for a special occasion.

We came the day before Valentines. Make sure you make reservations. Although we dressed up, it’s pretty casual. We were seated Oceanside. The service was great as well as the food. I had the kampachi $38 and it was devine. It was the perfect balance, even though the portion seems small. I didn’t leave feeling stuffed, nor did I leave feeling hungry. Plus I had a glass of wine while the Mr. had a hamburger $26 which he said was delicious. The truffle fries were tasty as well.
Parking was validated, which granted us an extra three hours to look around. There was an open market going on so the validated hours was nice.
The restaurant is located in the Hyatt and we self parked. Parking is extremely narrow going up the ramp, so be mindful or just valet. If you self park, again, you are validated.

We booked at the Hyatt and figured we would try this place out. IT WAS DELICIOUS! The tropical drinks were we went around 8:30 pm so drinks and appetizers were half off! We also went for buffer breakfast with my family and it was super good!
