3/2/26. Finally I was able to stop by Jacob’s Smokehouse. I tried the Brisket sandwich with potato salad, WOW very tasty plus add the sauce they give ya and that puts a little kick in it. The potato salad was very good also. I would definitely go there again. Very nice little restaurant, just wish they were open for dinner.

Ordered the meat platter, side of potato salad with a cup of gumbo to share and it was the perfect portion for two. The smoked chicken and brisket was delicious but the sausage and the ribs stole the show.
Potato salad was a very generous portion and paired well with the meats.
The gumbo hit the spot! Thick chunks of sausage and chicken, I would have been happy with a whole bowl vs the cups but I wanted to try everything else!
Atmosphere was laid back with history of the area on the walls.

I was with a group when we stopped in here for lunch. The owner was there and he gave us a tour of the smoke houses, which was so fun to see! Their andouille and sausage are delicious. Wanting something lighter for lunch, I ordered the Smoked Chicken Salad and it was incredible! Their smoked chicken is so flavourful, highly recommend!

I’m no bbq expert but this is some of the best bbq I’ve ever had. Chicken was a little dry but everything else cooked to perfection. Great gumbo and deviled eggs. And the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever tasted. Efficient friendly service. Nice clean atmosphere. Will definitely come back to try other things gs on varied menu.

They do have a limited menu. The ribs were excellent and flavorful, the brisket was thin cut which I dont care for but had a good taste to it however it was very greasy on the plate. We had potatoe salad and baked beans but neither of them were anything fantastic, we actually left more than half of both. I would definitely go back for the ribs

Had the Monday lunch special for f red beans with smoked sausage annd cracklin cornbread. Also ordered the deviled egg’s and hog’s head cheese, and brisket sammy. Delicious, flavorful and perfect. Good music and clean bathrooms were an added bonus for the weary traveler!

Wayne Jacobs is a Cajun food store and restaurant. They sell Cajun specialties such as Tasso, Boudin, Andouille, smoked duck, rabbit, chicken, as well as spices and other food accessories. They do an excellent job! They also make lunches out of their food products and you simply cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. We had fried catfish with white beans, shrimp and rice (the daily special) and a smoked brisket sandwich. Everything was awesome and almost everything was made in house. If you live in the greater NOLA area you have no excuse not to go. If you are visiting NOLA then find the time to make the 30 minute drive and find out for yourself.
