I called in an order of two dumpling appetizers and one general tso’s, as that was the most recommended order. Their menu lists beef dumplings, but they do not sell those, only pork and chicken, and pork is NOT on their menu that I read before ordering. I only received one of the dumpling orders, and called back to ask about the mistake. She said I had only ordered one, so my partner did not get what he wanted, and the only reason we decided to try to eat out in the first place. I was shocked, because I realized I paid $28 for an appetizer of 8 dumplings and general tso’s. Prices are not listed on their menu. Neither dish was worth ordering again, not sure why this place is so hyped up. The vegetables in the General Tso’s weren’t cooked enough to pierce with a fork along with the soft chicken, and there werent many vegetables at all. The taste was missing any floral notes and it had a “Texas” flavor to it that is not normal from any other place I’ve eaten. The dumplings were dry even though they were steamed, not sure how that even happens? Also missing distinct flavors that were just not there.
There was a line of people who worked there standing against the far wall staring at the door talking while one woman was handling their phone calls and pickups, another bringing the food to her, and a handwritten sign telling you something similar to “takeout or pickup only” but there were people eating inside. Weird place and weird food that did not have any flavor profiles I’m familiar with in Chinese food.

We stopped by Hins Garden in Kingwood and just grabbed two entrées the Kung Pao Chicken and the Orange Chicken, both with white rice. The orange chicken was actually really good! You could taste a bit of oyster sauce in it, which added a nice savory kick. The Kung Pao Chicken though… eh, not our fave. The chicken was kinda hard and dry on the inside, even though it was drowned in sauce (like a lot of sauce). I feel like they’re trying to cater to American taste buds with all that sauce, but honestly, you don’t need that much.

We even ended up just picking around the chicken and mostly ate the veggies, so we probably only ate half of that plate lol. But overall, it’s a decent spot, especially for the area. It’s more of a nostalgic place for my husband since he grew up in Kingwood, and now that we’re living here again for work, I know we’ll be back for his orange chicken fix. also this place is to go only and the service is kind of dry so don’t come here for conversation. Do you come here for orange chicken.

This is by far the best Chinese food in the Kingwood area. The portions are generous and the staff is always polite and quick my average wait time in 10 minutes. So if you are new to the area and you are looking for your go to Chinese food restaurant look no further this is your spot.

This was the most bland and terrible Asian food I’ve ever eaten. We paid $60 for food delivery. The fried rice has no flavor, the chicken chow mein’s meat was pure white and slimy, the egg rolls were like eating chalk. I’m not one to waste food, but we literally threw the food away without eating it, other than the orange chicken which was okay.

Always a go to guilty pleasure when in Kingwood. Sad that they don’t have seating to eat there. All our dishes were delicious the only thing that wasn’t as good as before was the Orange Beef and Sesame Beef. The steak tasted burnt or charred. The General Chicken, Happy Family, Combination Lo Mein, Pork Dumplings and Vietnamese Fried Egg rolls were all yummy. Going to enjoy my leftovers tonight.

Absolutely my favorite place for Chinese in Kingwood. We stopped in because we heard that the dining room had reopened. It was not; however, the owners graciously seated us since it was after their lunch rush. They were very engaging. The food was amazing as always. I highly recommend Hin’s for takeout or delivery. We had the egg drop soup, wonton soup, chicken with broccoli, and the general’s chicken and each had an egg roll with soft drink for under $24.

Came here to have lunch but the sign on the door says to go and delivery only. Such a disappointment.
