Shah’s Halal was established in 2005 with one food cart in Richmond Hill Queens on 121st and Liberty Avenue, and we’ve been tantalizing taste buds ever since. In 2016, we developed our first Long Island branch with the goal in mind of becoming, “the best Halal Food Restaurant in Long Island NY;” and we’ve definitely grown a lot since then! We know our customers are just as passionate about great food as we are.

Thank you guys
Quick service and very reasonable prices too. Their fried potatoes are incredible.
I went for the simple chicken served over rice with veggies (in my case a salad) on top. The salad was fresh and the rice was spot-on perfect Basmati with cumin seeds in it. The chicken didn’t have any flavor at all and there were some gristly pieces in it. It’s a bold red color, but that doesn’t indicate flavor, just coloring.
Regarding the sauces… The green sauce was decent, it’s a cilantro type sauce and it tasted decent. The white sauce was bland. The red, hot sauce was definitely incredibly spicy, but had hardly any flavor.
Overall, it’s adequate and I’m sure that many who want moderate flavors would appreciate it. I prefer more depth of flavor and spice and this was too bland for me.
The guy behind the counter had some of the worst customer service skills I’ve ever seen. For starters, he was extremely slow. He would then try to make too many orders at once so he can ring out as many orders at the same time as possible, and when he was politely corrected for mistakes by other patrons; he would just reply with “why don’t you come back here and make it” or “I know how to do my job”.
If you think you’re doing a favor to customers by simply just doing the bare minimum of what the job requires and have attitude about it, you shouldn’t be working in food service.
