John’s pizza is a classic pizza place from the 80’s. We stopped in for dinner on a trip and it was like walking back to the local pizza place from my childhood. Even the booths were the same. The pizza was very cheese. If you love cheese you will love the thick layer on top of a tasty dough and sauce. Recommended for a place to drop in and grab a pie. Be aware they only take cash.

I just moved back to the East Coast after five years and this is the exact style of pizza that I was looking for. Plenty of toppings plenty of flavor great pricing and John is a friendly guy. I will definitely be back for more pizza and everything else on the menu.

I don’t have anything bad to say about John’s. The pizza is amazing! We ended up here a second time for dinner and treated local family of ours from PA & NY and they all said the pizzas was “amazing” and “some of the best I’ve had in a long time.” John and his family were all kind and helpful and happy to chat, very welcoming. Anyone who comes to this area should stop at John’s. I suggest the garlic bread & the “John’s specialty white pizza” it was so unique, never seen that anywhere else and it was SO delicious! Fantastic homemade bread & pizza dough, the crust was superb. One thing to note – it is cash only. His prices are great though! The portions are HUGE, so it makes it really cheap actually for the amount of food you get. We got enough pizzas & garlic bread to feed 20 people and it was $50.

This is a unfortunate review. I really wanted to like this pizza, but it may have been the worst tasting pizza I’ve had in CT for a while. I only stopped here to try it because it has great overall ratings. The owner was a very nice guy, I love the feel of the shop, the old school style pizza, friendly locals chatting about the old days and how expensive things are now. It felt very rustic, but that’s where the positives end. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza, and with any pepperoni pizza I expect some grease, when I say I used 15 napkins to pat the grease off this pizza pie, I’m not exaggerating. Next, the sauce at this place may be the worst sauce I’ve encountered in the tri-state area. It tastes like hunt’s canned sauce with a mountain of oregano added to it. The foundation of the pizza was ok. Definitely a thick crust joint. Overall, very disappointing. I could only eat one slice, gave the rest of the pie to a homeless guy.

Back in 2004, three Koreans came to the Master Song Taekwondo gym in the building next door, saying they were cousins—one little boy, one high school girl, and one college student. We didn’t speak English well, we missed Korea deeply, and we were always struggling.
But whenever we went to your pizza place, you always welcomed us with big smiles and delicious pizza. Even though we couldn’t understand much English, we could feel how kind you were. You even let us look around the kitchen.
The little brother, who was just a kid back then, loved flipping through the used car magazines he found in your shop. Maybe that’s why—even now, in his 30s—he still loves cars so much.
I can never forget the taste of the pizza we ate at your place back then. I searched and searched for your shop on Google, and I can’t tell you how grateful I was to find that you’re still there. I looked at your Instagram and was so surprised—the brothers’ faces looked exactly the same as before! It was the very same smile you kindly gave me back then. The same smile, even now.
I was a high school student then, and now I’m 40 years old. If I ever get the chance to visit there again, I would really love to see you.
do you remember us? ^^

Traveled from Pacific Ocean to Atlantic Ocean and many pizza places along the way, today my 8 kids declared John’s Pizza the best ever! My wife and I shared the white pizza and it was incredible! If I could give John 10 stars I would! You can taste the love these guys put into their passion! Thanks John, we loved the “Arizona Pie’s” too!!

Late stop on a Saturday. I stayed at the Ethan Allan hotel, which is about 9 minutes away. I met John, who is one cool dude.
They put out delicious pizza. I got a sausage and pepperoni. Every bite is delicious. The pepperoni, sausage, cheese and sauce is individually tasty. The pie was baked perfectly. Highly recommend.

After moving from New York to Connecticut, I really missed my NY pizza. That changed when I found John’s Pizza. Wish I’d tried it sooner because the rave reviews are spot on!
It’s the best pizza around, made by John himself. The white pizza with ham is amazing, and the buffalo chicken pizza is loaded with chicken like I’ve never seen before.
Can’t wait to go back! This is what I think of when I think of pizza — thank you John!

Probably not bad foroat people but I like a thinner, more well done crust. This was pretty soft and honestly tastes like cheesy bread for most of the pie. Ample toppings, nice family resteraunt with a small dining area, very nice people working there but just not my style/type of pizza
