Food 2/5 – Ordered crispy chicken katsu, macadamia nut/coconut crusted fish, and ahi poke stack. Ahi poke stack, the tuna didn’t taste fresh as it had a chewy texture. The namasu salad / picked radishes for both fried plates tasted like they were about to spoil, more sour than tangy. The veggie garnishes used for both fried plates also looked stale, (turning color as they’ve been sitting out for too long). The crusted fish was fine (okay fry and not oily), and the chicken katsu was okay until we found hair in the breading. Fortunately we were comped a replacement for that mistake.

Price $$ – You’re paying for the view rather than the quality of food. Ahi poke stack is a bad value.

Service 2/5 – Service could be better, no one stopped by to check in how our food was, nor asked to refill our drinks.

Ambiance 4/5 – You’re here for the view. There are no window blinds so you will be baking in the sun. There was a fly present and we had to consistently shoo it from our food.

Overall – I’d be hesitant to visit again, you can enjoy the view from the lounge area without eating at the restaurant.

Fantastic, fun, flavorful
Lots of incredible menu choices. We had the pesto pasta with chicken and the leafy green salad. Absolutely delicious. The next day we came back for lunch and had prawns and then a dessert of chocolate cake. Service was spectacular and the host Raleigh was helpful and fun.

Of course you can’t beat the view and we were fortunate enough to experience an amazing lava flow. You will love it !!!!!!!!

Food was pretty good but not amazing. For the price, it should’ve been a little better quality but overall it was good. I recommend getting the pizza which is normally fresh (sometimes not, it’s mostly luck). The view is great, you see the crater clearly and it’s amazing. Service was definitely 5 star, didn’t have any problems and they came pretty often to refill drinks. The wait to get a table is also not the best and sometimes takes awhile. Not many other choices, but I recommend coming if you don’t mind the cost too much.

We stayed at the Volcano House and had dinner at Uncle George’s. The waiter was very friendly and we were assigned a nice table for 4 right at the window with a nice view. We had Fish & Chips and the slow roasted Kalau Pig. All was wonderful.

This place offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. The breathtaking views of the active volcano while enjoying your meal are simply awe-inspiring. The food was equally impressive. The chicken wings were the best I’ve had in a long time, and the tomato bisque was also delicious. If you’re looking for a memorable meal in a stunning setting, I highly recommend.

First, we went volcano, hiking to get some hunger.

After that, we were sweaty and desperate for a good meal thank goodness we found uncle Jorge’s.

Mario was our server. He was a great server and knew all about the menu to make recommendations.

The kids had some loaded fries, which probably were not very healthy, but they seem to like them .

The Polk strip tease was delicious and had a crispy wonton for my mouth. Even though a burger and a chicken sandwich was ordered everything was devoured like a wolf on a bone.

Thanks, God . I would say this place was delicious and the noise level was a little bit insane my ears are hurting.

Meanwhile, it was fun to watch some people were doing crazy poses in front of the crater/volcano .

Great views. Cheese sandwich. Beer.

Good location. Sketchy food. Lousy service. It took at least ten minutes to get water at our table. Another ten to get a drink order placed. The burger was undercooked, the pasta was mediocre and the macadamia crusted fish was overdone, chewy like leather. Waiter seemed knowledgeable, but visited infrequently, often hiding in his prep area. If I had been paying for the meal, he wouldn’t have received a tip. Take the time to drive into Volcano for a better experience.

Yummy! The staff were very friendly and helpful, great view if the weather was clearer AND food was delicious.
We decided to stop and have a bite before our hike and we’re so glad we did.
We split the Mascarpone pizza and Garlic White and both were even better than we could imagine. I’m a little bit of a pizza snob, so I didn’t have high expectations for Hawaiian pizza, but I was wrong. Maybe more traditional pizza may disappoint me, but these didn’t.
I didn’t take picture immediately like I should’ve, but something is better than nothing.

Freedom Isn’t Free
We ate there twice during our 10 day visit back to Hawaii for me as I grew up there and spent a lot of time at Volcano House, and was excited to take my family to see the view from there and eat some food. The coffee bar was awesome, and our first time eating at this place went really well. The staff was super accommodating, friendly, and the food was pricey, but delicious. We came back when the volcano was actually flowing, and I brought my younger brother and his family along to treat them to the experience we had at this place from a few nights before. This was a completely different experience. The staff was rude, and made you feel like you were an inconvenience to them. The pizzas took a really long time to get to us, and when we requested to move near the windows and have a table that sat all of us together, so we could watch the lava flows and eat, they absolutely refused, were very rude about it, even though there was no one else waiting for tables in the restaurant. They were also extremely rude to another customer, an obvious tourist, who had a large camera and wanted to take photos of the volcanic activity. I don’t understand why you both a restaurant with those views and refuse your customers the ability to sit by them and enjoy that view. It really blew my mind . It also completely changed my view and perspective on this place. It’s extremely pricey for the quality of food that you get. When visiting again, we will probably eat somewhere else in Volcano Village, and definitely not there again. That’s a little too bipolar for me and my family. Especially for the price. We spent $100s.
