Stopped at On the Square on the spur of the moment while traveling. I chose it purely due to pictures of the ribeye on Google maps. I was not disappointed. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. The green beans were excellently prepared. And the baked brie was truly spectacular with its cranberry sauce.

Being the barbarian that I am, I of course didn’t get any of the staff’s names, but there is one truly beautiful black lady who has a disposition to match her looks. She treated us very well. Then there was the young gentleman that waited on us. He was tall and dark-haired. He was very friendly and professional. Also, there is another staff member, Carli, who is both efficient and friendly. This whole staff are top-notch.

I cannot recommend this restaurant high enough.

Really cute little historic restaurant. The Rachel sandwich was really good. The fried probably were good 30 minutes ago. Now they are cold and limp. They have a decent selection of alcohol at the bar and a nice wine room. I’d try it again.

This is by far the best restaurant in eastern NC!!! Chloe provided fantastic customer service, was genuinely friendly and made great recommendations. Caitlin made some of the best drinks I ever had, everything was fresh, and had a unique flavor. Our food was so good, probably one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Y’all ask for the bread, the butter alone is worth it! Overall, this was a fantastic meal in a really great atmosphere.

There would be a 3+ month wait to get into this restaurant if it was in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago or San Francisco. The single best fish, pasta, salad, and dessert preparations I’ve had in my well traveled 70 years. Their consistency for excellence, like their adjoining fabulous wine cellar, is unmatched.

We went there forever lunch. Burgers were great, salads were over the top good. Great quality food. Service was slow but it was lunch hour and they were very busy.

A great restaurant in Tarboro, which was a somewhat surprising find all things considered. The Sushi was great and the dishes I saw pass by looked really awesome. We sat outside which was a nice option. The wine selection was terrific even though I opted for a local beer from Tarboro Brewing Company but that was a great choice. The location isn’t exactly on the “square” but it’s 1 block off main, convenient, and easy to find parking. If you’re headed east or west on US-64, take the short drive into downtown for some great, upscale but casual food.

Clearly one of the finest restaurants in town with a great wine selection. The place with filled with both locals and people from out of town. Very high quality food.

Looks like they have a great local following. A nice alternative to chain restaurants when heading to the coast. A little strange that the only beer they had on top in July was called home for the holidays. All their beer in cans were not cold because there was a problem with the cooler. So if you’re looking for a crisp Diet Coke and a Styrofoam cup, you’re in luck. Fast service and reasonable prices.
