Wow! Truly impressed with this restaurant. The decor is extremely well thought out, every detail is just perfect. The tables are nicely spaced, the seating is very comfortable and there’s loads of beautiful touches everywhere, from the art, through the spectacular lighting to the plants and wallpaper.
The booking system was playing up so we took a chance and rocked up, it was mid afternoon on the Saturday of the Balloon Fiesta so we were in luck.
The super nice staff showed us to a table and I folded my mobility scooter next to us. There is step free access to the ground floor where we sat opposite the large windows.
My husband had a cocktail, which was delicious, I stuck with water (which I think must be filtered as there was no hint of Bristol chlorine) as we studied the menu. There is a section for small plates and then traditional curries and sides. As it was mid afternoon we opted for the small plates and after consulting the waitress chose 6 options. The plates arrived promptly as we were still taking in our beautiful surroundings.
They were all amazing! My favourite was the tandoori chicken, served as a sizzler, it was so moist and succulent, despite being breast meat and packed with flavour.
We will definitely be coming back and I suspect that it will become a new regular.

Ordered via Deliveroo although I have been planning to visit in person and am familiar with the other restaurants in Bristol. Best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. Fresh spices, vegetables and bread!!!! Surprisingly difficult to find when ordering Indian food and tasted divine! The veg bhuna had a perfect thick but not dry sauce. Vegetables were very slightly al dente…..and tasted fresh!!!!! Delicious!!! A generous portion of rice…..I’ve found my new favourite!!!!! Everybody commented on the quality and flavours!

Wow. Been meaning to pop in and check this place out, and finally made it here a couple of Thursdays ago.
The food was delicious, lamb packed full of flavour and everything tasted really fresh. So glad to have this on our doorstep, and I will be back to check out more of the menu. If you love a curry, definitely check it out.

I recently discovered a new place in Bristol that serves some of the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had. The ambiance is simply amazing, and the customer service is top-notch. If you’re looking for a truly memorable dining experience, I highly recommend this place. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

First visit and first Curry in Bristol. There are a fair few to chose from, especially on the same road. We walked from Bristol Temple Meads to Bedminster, about 25 minutes. I chose this one based on Google reviews and the Scores On The Door Hygiene rating of 5. The restaurant is very nicely laid out. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was very tasty and well presented and the wine was acceptable for the price, albeit overpriced like all Indian Restaurants. The background music could not be heard properly, but it was not traditional indian music, which is what I prefer when visiting Indian restaurants. My only gripe is that the toilets could be better presented and smelled better. We will go back, but I’d also like to try the others on the same road.

Bombil for lunch: not many places top this in Bristol for quality and value. Two of us went for a variety of small plates, plus a rice and roti. Just about finished the lot! Zingy sodas to wash it all down. 100% guaranteed a warm welcome and gorgeous grub here.

I visited Bombil last week – the name stands for Bombay to Bristol. I’ve never been to Bombay, but after tasting the food here, I imagine the cuisine there must be just as good. The restaurant has a pleasant, compact setting, thoughtfully designed with a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

The food was fantastic and at a very reasonable price for the portion sizes. Our waitress Ellie was very friendly and helpful. Only gave 4/5 for the atmosphere as we went in for early lunch and it was quite quiet but the restaurant is lovely.
