This was my first experience at El Segundo. The hostess Gabby was warm, friendly and efficient. She politely informed us that there was a 30 minute wait but that she would work on getting tables cleaned up so she could seat us as quickly as possible. She came back after a few minutes to let us know that she was working on getting our wait time down and wanted to make sure we were comfortably seated during our wait. She got the wait time down to 17 minutes and she came to seat us and took our drink order right away and asked if we would like to put and order in since we had to wait. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. We had the burned tips taco and the mole wings to start. We then tried all the tacos and I had a Mexican coca cola and my husband had a Margherita. While we were dining, we were told since it was taco Tuesday, the tacos were $3 and the Margheritas were $5 the bartender made the drink from scratch and my husband was given the option of salt, sugar or tajin on the rim. We were blown away and understand why there was a line out the door. The atmosphere was very hip and there all ages and demographics in the room. It’s a dog friendly restaurant. It reminded me of a hip Texas roadhouse. Art on the walls, subdued light and a big screen TV over the bar. There’s an outdoor area and even though it was packed, it didn’t feel claustrophobic. Our favorite taco is the el big Mac. A smashed beef patty with cheese served on top of a flattened sesame seed bun. Sadly, we ate more than we thought and had no space for dessert so we didn’t try the churro or the tree leches so I guess we will have to go back!

The brisket on tacos and quesadillas was really tasty. My margarita was very good and a happy hour price of $5. Connor was very friendly and extremely helpful.

Not one note. At first you might say this a vibe mexican spot and yes you would be right. But it is so much more, the Gabby or server was not only knowledgeable and attentive, but you could tell from our conversation she loved working here. Situated in what they call the peach surrounded by art and art galleries, you come to eat delicious food, but also have an experience. We started with the elote corn dip, with house made chips. The dip is everything you want in any dip you taste, creamy, chunky, seasoned, with a hint of lime. We will be coming back just for the dip. Followed by their blackened chicken quesadilla. Stuffed with chicken and cheese. Served with their house made guacamole, pico, and crema (which is literally never like, but could not stop eating this on everything). This is a meal in and of itself. We then tried four different tacos, each one uniquely different and again filled with different meats and flavors, my favorite being the pork chiccharron ceviche taco. We will keep coming back, especially now that we were told they are opening a “brick and mortar” location in palm beach gardens. I am hoping they are able to keep the something special they have at their west palm location.

El Segundo, a funky little Mexican restaurant hidden away in west Palm beach. This is anther Subculture Restaurant which we have come to enjoy what Subculture has to offer. A Mexican theed building in a small section of Georgia Ave with some art studios and shops which we may also try to visit on our next encounter at El Segundo. We started with a Birria Taco which has become one of our favorite Mexican dishes, most Mexican restaurants in Palm Bea county don’t serve them. Birria tacos are known for their juicy, flavorful meat and the signature dipping liquid.
Their $5.00 Margaritas are also hard to pass up. We followed that with fish taco’s and a pulled pork taco which could have used less BBQ sauce, otherwise it was packed with pork and delicious. The fish tacos were fried and plenty of slaw and sauce that overpowered the fish but again.
Next time; We will try their Colombian Street Dog which is Wagyu Beef Frank, Brioche roll, Roasted Garlic Aioli, Charred Pineapple Relish, French Sauce, Quail Egg and served with Voodoo Chips. Being a hot dog freak this sounded too good to pass up. Coconut Cake for desert will be also on the list when we go back. Also, we would re-order the birria tacos!

We just so randomly happen to come across this location while searching somewhere to eat and let me tell you IT WAS MEANT TO BE! The vibe is great! Customer service 10/10 and the food was delicious ! Birria tacos were delicious and the best way to end the meal with an infused cold brew!

I liked the ambiance of this place, it’s near bunch of art studios. However, the food is extremely OVERPRICED $6-$7, FOR ONE PIECE OF TACO. Mini size tacos should be $3 or $3.50. They are same size as tacos at Bar taco. If 2 people had 3 tacos each, you end up spending $45 for 6 tacos, that’s way overpriced. Overall, the tacos did taste good but not worth $7 each.

I’ve had beef brisket burrito and I think it could be better. To my taste it was a bit too dry, had too much onions and not enough of actual beef. The staff is too tense despite very upbeat music.

This place is my new go to secret spot. If you’re looking for a vibrant spot in West Palm Beach that nails both flavor and atmosphere, El Segundo is a must-visit. My recent meal here was a fantastic experience from start to finish, with each dish offering a fresh and creative twist on classic Mexican-inspired favorites. The setting at El Segundo is relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of natural light and a casual, friendly vibe. The food presentation is playful yet polished, served on colorful trays and checkered paper that add to the lively ambiance.
We had the guacamole and mole wings to start. Both were a great chose. For the main course we split tacos (left to right – chicharrone ceviche, two fish tacos, and on the right is El Big Mac taco which is basically a cheeseburger taco which I loved because it is different) and a Street Corn Caesar with Smoked Pork: This salad was a standout-crisp romaine, tangy dressing, and the addition of smoky, tender pork took it to the next level. The crunchy croutons and sprinkle of tajin added a nice punch.
I took pics of the menu because we have so much more to try (birria tacos for sure) and 50/50 marg are my next order.
In summary, this is a perfect casual post beach taco spot off the beaten path.

Part of me doesn’t want to review this spot, it’s that good, and I’d like to keep getting a seat if word gets out. But here we are. The tacos are incredible (the pulled beef is a standout), and they serve classic Mexican Coca-Cola. Tucked away in a corner of a vibrant art district, the place has a laid-back vibe with surf videos on screen, great ambiance, and a fantastic outdoor space.

So yeah…El Segundo. Big fan. Would go again. And definitely will go again. Probably tell people I discovered it first as well. The brisket quesadilla…outstanding. Compliments to the chef. The owner is a personal friend of mine, so makes the dining experience casual and not overbearing. Family friendly and welcoming. Bring your dog along – they don’t mind, they’re good people. Enjoy a margarita or 2. I’m a regular here. Great spot, nice work guys. Solid food. Solid guys. 10/10
