Contemporary pub in the heart of Lewes. The place is lively and energetic with an active bar scene featuring multiple big screen TVs. The food is very gòod, but the service is inconsistent. We waited several minutes for the hostess to acknowledge us and once we were seated, it took forever for our drinks to arrive. That said, our server was very nice, hard working and apologetic. Our other courses arrived in a reasonable period of time. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops were tender and tasty and blended well with the crispy, salty bacon. My wife had the burger which was delicious and cooked perfectly. I had the chicken picatta which also was tender, tasty and was an appropriately sized portion including 2 sides of rice and mixed vegetables. We shared the key lime pie for dessert. It was sweet, creamy and mouth watering and had a wonderful crunchy crust. Overall, a pretty good dining experience, but could be better with a little faster, consistent service.

The atmosphere Is very English Pub. It’s a popular spot, especially during the summer, so expect it to be busy.

We ordered a variety of small plates and cocktails. The cocktails were good. The food was ok. A few dishes lacked flavor. If you plan to go, definitely make a reservation.

We sat in the main dining room, which gets very loud. Especially as the beer and cocktails start flowing.

Had a delicious dinner last night with good friends celebrating February Birthdays. We shared the baked brie, crab dip & fladbread to start. They were delicious! My hubby enjoyed chicken & barley soup. All of us enjoyed our entrees. So much flavor! Next time ill take pics as the presentation was beautiful!
We will be back!

We had a ladies luncheon yesterday with 15 of us. Everyone said that their lunch was delicious. Our service was fantastic especially when it came time to pay. You know of course we got separate checks and sometimes that can be difficult. The restaurant was so charming we will definitely make another tip to Lewes.

We frequently go to the Rose and Crown after attending concerts in Lewes. The staff is always welcoming and attentive. The Atmosphere is warm and cozy. The food is consistently good. Tonight I had rockfish with risotto and lobster sauce. Absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Completely average food with below average service. We were recommended to visit Rose & Crown and ended up hugely disappointed. Our experience started with drinks and a Dirty Martini that was straight up olive juice. The Cheesesteak Egg Rolls we ordered as an appetizer were so over fried that they were inedible. The Fish and Chips was ok (not nearly as good as others have stated) and the Korean BBQ Wings were undercooked and coated with a ketchup-based sauce. Our waiter was inept and sometimes rude, and he just kind of fumbled his way through the dining room. Sorry, but first impressions are everything; we won’t return.

I’ve just experienced the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. My previous pic for this, was a place in Kennett Square that has been closed for repairs for a couple of years now. I was so excited when I saw it show up to the table because I could tell it was cooked perfectly. The breading was light, crunchy and not oily. The fish tasted buttery and fluffy and the tartar sauce was spot on. It wasn’t too much or too little and it also came with french fries that needed no other topping. My guess is both were cooked in clean oil and the chef knew just how long to cook them both. The coleslaw was also delicious and a nice pallet cleanser. On top of that they serve Harp and Guinness on tap and the bartender couldn’t have been more delightful. I was also secretly happy that my wife ordered the same thing so I didn’t have to share. My wife also had the homemade tea which she said was delicious, as it must have been she had three glasses. We will most certainly be back soon and while I might be convinced to try some other stuff on the menu my heart right now is thinking about that fish and chips.
