We are regular customers here from Halifax. We don’t like to miss eating here whenever we pass this route. We have tried Tandoori, chicken tikka and other items they are excellent. This time we wanted to try something new and tried chicken vindaloo and chicken Biryani.
Completely disappointed. Despite asking spicy, vindaloo was sweetish and tomato flavour. Just 4 small-med pieces for a large bowl. Chicken Biryani isn’t Dum, it’s made up of gravy. 3 small pieces and It was cold too.
These 2 are going to be my least favourite ones being a south Indian.
Staff is great though.
Edit: Tried the Chicken Tandoori today. It wasn’t good. The dish was full of oil and seemed to be made with reheated pieces. It might not just be the above two dishes; it looks like the chef has changed, or they may have reduced the quality as they prepare to open a new dine-in location.

Absolutely loved the food at Sizzle and Spice in Truro Heights! The Amritsari Kulcha with Chana was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with authentic flavor — just like you’d get in Punjab. The noodle burger was such a fun and delicious twist, full of flavor and texture. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving real Indian taste in Truro Heights!

Disappointment at peak. First time tried
and they sent burnt food and food was smelling so bad. Never excepted this kind of food and especially samosa chat. You guys should close down your business until you learn how to make food. Please don’t make people sick with your rubbish food. Rather than disposing this kind of food away you guys prefer to send it your customers. You guys love to send burnt
food to your customers why don’t you try yourself first and see how you feel.

Tried Sizzle and Spice in Truro and honestly, it blew us away! We ordered a bunch of different dishes and every single one was delicious—way beyond what we expected. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the owner even gave us some freebies while we waited which was such a nice surprise. If you’re in town or even just driving through, definitely stop by and give this place a try!

We came here expecting a dine-in restaurant based on their advertising, but unfortunately that was not the case. The place looks more like a take-out spot attached to a convenience store. They used stock photos to promote “fine dining” at their Truro Heights location, but in reality the food was served on paper plates with plastic containers and one plastic spoon. That’s not what I’d call a dine-in or fine-dining experience.
That said, I want to point out that the staff were genuinely kind and tried their best to accommodate us once they realized we came in to eat. Their effort is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The food itself was alright, but overall the experience didn’t match what was advertised.
Don’t even get be started on the mango lassi, barely any flavour and just sugar for $6 in a plastic Coca-Cola with no lid.

From the moment my brother and I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic evening…. The decor was modern and simple with light music… Our server, Mr Saurabh was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly – making us feel right at home….

Now, onto the main event! We ordered the Shahi Paneer, Basmati Rice, and Chicken and each bite was a masterclass in flavor and technique….The dishes were expertly balanced, aromatic spices and herbs that transported me n my brother to the streets of India… Their Shikanji (lemonade) is a must try
– Authenticity: Sizzle & Spice truly delivers on its promise of authentic Indian food…. Every dish felt like a love letter to the culture.
– Quality: Fresh, high-quality ingredients shone through in every bite.

On christmas day I couldn’t make it home for dinner. By the time I got to truro it was dinner time. This was the only place open. The owner was amazing, so friendly, he gave us samples while we waited. His service was great, he was very friendly. He was very kind to my daughter. I discovered later I knew him from another business he owns where he was also very kind to my daughter. The food was absolutely amazing. 10/10 I would recommend and I will return. Thank you so much!

Very disappointed with the food quality. The Paneer Bhurji had too much oil and did not taste fresh. After eating it, I got food poisoning. This is very concerning. Food safety and quality should be taken seriously. I hope the management improves their hygiene and cooking standards.

We picked up butter chicken, garlic naan and raita tonight. We have never eaten from there before. We are blown away and will try so many more things on the menu in the future! For context, while we have never visited India directly, we have lived in Malaysia and Singapore in the past and the south Asian cuisine there is phenomenal. So when I say this is authentic and delicious, I know what I’m talking about. 5 stars!! AND, they threw in a dessert for free and wished me “many happy returns of the day” when they learned it was my birthday! Just fantastic flavours!
